Charming!

I recently visited this shop for lunch. The place is tiny and only has a few tables, and when I arrived, it was fully occupied. The shop owner kindly asked me to return in 10-15 minutes, which I did. I ordered a few items from the menu, and while the food was good, what truly stood out was the owner's exceptional hospitality and patience. He even added extra gravy to one of my dishes without me asking. The shop seems to focus on Buddhist teaching. It's located on the main road, so there is no dedicated parking. You will have to park elsewhere and walk over.

Inexpensive and great food

If you wish to taste Penang traditional food catered for vegetarians, this is the place to go. This is the place we went for several days for our breakfast. Flavourful and so good. The prices are ridiculously inexpensive.

Our last breakfast was free and we paid only for our drinks. Someone had gone earlier and paid for everyone's meal. Another pleasant surprise.

I wish they had Tea-C, instead of just coffee. They have home made Chrysanthemum tea which frankly tasted more like Lo Han Kuo.

It's a small restaurant, but they had tables and chairs on the small side road next to it. This lends that little more colour to this joint.

The guy serving us was always friendly during our breakfasts visits. They even allowed us to bring Tea-C from another shop nearby.

Pros: Delicious food, Different speciality each day, Inexpensive

Cons: Wish they had Tea-C, besides just coffee , Not many seating

Fantastic spread of grub on the cheap

We sampled almost everything available on the menu and it came to around €9. Everything was nice but the duck and wontons were the best.

Pros: Price, Taste, Nice staff

Very local, good food

As I was the only tourist here, this place had a very local feel. I had the thursday special: Rice, Mixed Veggie Curry, Kung Pao Chicken. Good portion for a decent price (10 MYR).

Vegan Buddhist Breakfast Cafe + Coffee

For the price, $1.60, the food and coffee was excellent. Everyone was really friendly and it was fun to sit inside their kitchen while having noodles and coffee for breakfast.

Pros: quick and cozy, casual and friendly, coffee

Must try in Penang!

Some of the best vegan Malaysia food you’ll find in all of Malaysia! Most dishes are homemade and you can really taste the love and effort going into it. It’s run by a local family and the dishes vary daily. Wednesday is Laksa day which I can recommend to the fullest - best laksa in all of Penang - and I’ve tried plenty - yes, even better than Pinxins! The food is so well flavored, staff is incredibly kind and it’s affordable! Check it out

Pros: Delicious and affordable

Some of the best food I’ve ever had

It’s like eating in someone’s kitchen, in the best way. The food is all fresh, the hosts are welcoming, and the quality is unbeatable. Probably the best food I’ve had in Asia.

Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious, Rotating menu

Cons: Tight space (although I enjoyed it)

Very kind owners and good food

So glad I stopped at this cute little roadside restaurant.
They have a menu for every day and additional regular items. There are 3 tables inside, and when they all filled it feels like being part of a big family, which was a nice experience.
The owner was so kind. It started raining ☔️ exactly when I was about to leave, so she offered me water and told me I can just stay here.
The food was good and affordable- I would come back here. Bring 💵- they don’t accept card

Pros: Family atmosphere , Very kind owner, Delicious food and weekly menu 🥘

Cons: Cash only

Small, vegan, roadside place

A small, roadside place with a daily varying menu. I have trouble recalling the names of the dishes, but me and my brother, both took noodles type dishes that came with vegetables, tofu, seitan-like meat, and some sort of crispy appadam like things on top. To go with, we had cold sugarcane juice. We paid just 16 RM for everything.

Only the noodle dish of my brother I have a picture.

Pros: Very cheap, but delicious , Very friendly owner

Cons: None keeping how small a place it is

The unforeseen New Years blessing

Stumbled upon this gem coincidentally after visiting the New World Food Market, which was closed. Very kind and accommodating owners. Small and local family shop serving a rotating menu with daily specials. Great flavor, local atmosphere, all vegan, and very affordable.

Pros: All vegan, Small family shop, Great flavor

Cons: Limited seating, Rotating menu (everything not available)

Cute little restaurant

I loved the vibe in there and the food is so cheap! The staff is so nice. They explained to us every dish whats on the menu and showed us pictures of how it looks like. We ordered spring rolls and wan tan which were ok but nothing special. As a main dish we had the noodle soup of the day. It was decent food.
