Lovely food, great service - Edit
Very nice cosy restuarant. Food is fab and the staff really help. The vegan menu isn't really a vegan menu, it's vegetarian, but the staff are helpful with taking out egg and dairy. Like others have said they still put mayo on the plate which is a little weird. The food is ace though and very tasty! No vegan desserts which is a shame

Great Find in Istanbul - Edit
After walking around Turkish restaurants proudly displaying hanging corpses of slaughtered beasts and experiencing Turkey's meat-worshipping culture firsthand, it was delightful to find a restaurant that had several fine options devoid of animals or their bodily fluids. Constantine's does serve meat and dairy, which makes it suitable for dining with omnivore/carnivore friends. Strict vegans might avoid for this reason, but I applaud Constantine's for committing to hosting vegetarians and vegans in the midst of such an overwhelmingly carnivorous country.
Read moreOn the downside, their serving sizes were unimpressive, but everything tasted great, and the pleasant staff, who spoke English well, both of which made up for the modest portions. The setting was a cozy side street in the main historic district, so quite convenient for those touring the remarkable sights old Istanbul offers.
We hope to return to Istanbul someday, and we'll definitely dine at Constantine's Ark again if we do!

Really nice staff, we got a free appetiser and free tea after the dinner. The staff were trally nice, some slightly pushy, wanted us to order the most expensive food. But other staff members were really nice and the food came on time and tasted great!

They have a separate vegan menu BUT as another reviewer said, this is slightly pointless when the food comes out with a yoghurt side dish! I think it would be fine as long as you checked first, just a shame this is necessary. Food was very tasty though and great service, we had a lot of laughs with our lovely waiter trying to teach us Turkish phrases

Fabulous find in Istanbul - Edit
This restaurant had an excellent separate vegan menu, delicious food, generous servings, nice ambiance and was easy to find. Staff were so friendly too, and welcomed us when we dined there on consecutive nights! It was that good!

Don't understand what vegan is - Edit
They have a vegan menu but I received one mezze with yogourt et one plate with cheese so I coudn't be certain that the other plates were vegans. They have no idea what vegan means.
Read moreThey charged a tax that no other restaurant charge (V.A.T) and it was super expensive. The owner tell us that it was a tax service included but the waiter said he was lying and that he gets nothing from that "V.A.T".

The fact that other restaurants don't explicitly itemise VAT (a common tax in many countries ) in the bill doesn't mean that they don't charge it. However it should be specified in the menu that the prices are before tax.

Complete vegan 8 part Mezze Plate. Eggplant, Dolma with rice, spicy paprica... with it their special bread. Delightful time and attently waiters. After all a turkish coffee and a small Fig-Dessert for free.

Went here for dinner twice and ordered the mezze platter to share between two. The first time I asked for the vegan mezze and it came out as vegetarian and they asked if it was ok and I said no so they took the yogurt back and brought 2 extra small plates for their mistake. I tried a couple of restaurants around galata/ blue mosque area and this was BY FAR the best and the eggplant dishes were delightfully tasty!
Read moreAt the end of the meal they brought us a vegan dessert (a fig with syrup and nuts) and said it was vegan, it was nice for them to bring it and remember I was vegan.

Constantine's Ark - Edit
This very smart looking restaurant in Sultanhamet offers a specific menu of vegan dishes. I had a set of 8 chef mezes which were delicious, but the other dishes look quite inviting too. In a city, an area, where vegetarian (let alone) restaurants are hard to find, this is a shelter.

The food was really delicious, great service with a lot of extras. They had a lot vegetarian meals and even some vegan options. We were served bread with dip, hummus, a tea and some dessert on top of the meals we ordered.

Right in the Sultanahmet district, this place has excellent vegan options. They have a separate vegan menu and almost everything on the vegetarian menu can be made vegan. I had the mushroom casserole and the fig dessert (yes, they also have a couple of vegan desserts!) and everything was delicious. Service was great, too. #Veganuary

There are 2 vegan dessert and some vegan option... If you ask they Can make more of the dishes vegan. We always get gifted tea and the staffs are really nice 😊 they pay attention to the vegans if you go there people who ate vegetarian or non vegan. Every dish was really taste 😊😊

Staff knew what I meant when I said vegan, and even brought out two kinds of bread for one of the appetizers (ie one for me, since I was the only vegan individual in my party). I had the Hindu vegetables dish, great flavor and soft without being mushy.
