Japanese
Take-out
Non-veg
Serves meat, vegan options available. Japanese inspired cafe and mini-market. Vegan noodles are available by request only. Please ask cashier, who will be happy to accommodate you. The shoyu ramen is completely vegan if you order it with vegan noodles. Has vegan sides of kimchi and wakame salad, as well as several vegan omusubi rice balls. Sells coffee, tea and snacks and offers almond or soya milk on request.

Noodles have egg - Edit
Wanted vegan ramen, but the noodles have egg. They have vegan omusubi, which are good, but it’s a little too much seaweed for me. Im mostly disappointed they didn’t have vegan ramen.
Read morePros: Some vegan options.
Cons: No vegan ramen.

Hello Murphinator,
Read moreWe do indeed offer Vegan noodles. They are by request only. Operationally, it is not easy for us to serve the vegan noodles, but we are gladly willing to do so, but we cannot advertise it.
Thank you for understanding.

Few Vegan options, out of everything - Edit
We got here and were super excited to try the “vegan” ramen. Its not vegan, just vegetarian. They use egg noodles. Then we wanted to try some vegan omusubi. They had several options. When we ordered those, they said that the kitchen was overloaded because someone ordered 12, and that they couldnt make them for us. Then we ordered a vanilla latte with almond milk. They were out of vanilla. Then, they made it with regular milk and had to remake it. We left very hungry and disappointed.

Hello Michelle,
Read moreThank you for your review. We are terribly sorry that we disappointed you during your visit. It looks like we were not having the best day. I did want to mention one thing to help vegan diners in the future.
We offer vegan noodles upon request. Unfortunately, this message was not properly conveyed at the time, and for that, we apologize.
Our original Shoyu Vegan Ramen was indeed vegan, however to streamline the process of cooking at our tiny cafe kitchen, we switched to offering egg noodles by default. In the future, please feel free to ask for the vegan noodle option.
Thank you for your review, we hope you will come back and see that we've gotten it together since that bad day.
Sincerely,
Team Common Sage

Got the job done - Edit
Stopped in here for some vegan ramen and unfortunately they'd run out, so I got some rice balls instead, and my friend got the non-vegan ramen. Neither of us was terribly impressed. But this place has a nice atmosphere and you can buy various Japanese grocery items and beverages from the shop.

Hello Sandy,
Read moreAlthough our vegan ramen is limited, due to demand and the three days it takes to make the broth, we have since streamlined the process and availability of the Shoyu Vegetarian Ramen.
Prior to March, it was only a weekend special, but now we have it every day.
Thank you for your review. Please note, if you would like vegan noodles, they are upon request only now, but we are happy to serve them.
Sincerely,
Team Common Sage
