How did I not discover this place sooner?! It’s such a fun spot with incredibly friendly staff and several vegan 🌱 options on the menu—plus, some dishes can be made vegan 🥑 upon request. They also have a great selection of beer on tap. I tried their house-made Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts 🌱 in a rich, beer 🍻 gravy, and it was absolutely delicious 😋! The flavors were hearty and comforting, and it was a treat to enjoy a plant-based version of this classic dish in a restaurant. I can’t wait to return for brunch!

Some Vegan Options - Edit
Not a lot of vegan options, but the soup of the day was vegan - mushroom rice - and was tasty. The vegetable and potato casserole was good. They advertise vegan pie options, but every time I go, they are out - they need to carry more if they are putting it on the menu. Staff was friendly and service was decent.

There's no shortage of vegan options on the menu, and each item is sure to bring comfort with its classic diner style offerings. And it's not super easy to find a vegan bloody mary in MKE, but Comet provides! They also more recently started carrying Honeypie Bakery items ... wow 10/10

Great "diner" type food, which is something I normally miss out on as a vegan. Almost everything on the menu can be made vegan. They also had a vegan cherry pie!

Haven’t tried much from the dinner menu since they reopened. I miss all of the vegan options they used to have, especially the French dunk sandwich😭
Read moreTried the vegan seitan wings and they were great, good texture and flavor. I also got the vegan Mac and cheese and wasn’t a huge fan. It was good but not very cheesy.
I wish they still had vegan desserts like they used to(the cupcakes were so good😭😭) They only had one vegan fruit pie available.

We went out for dinner to Comet Café. A really nice small place that with a small menu. Almost all dishes are available vegan. The vegan Schwarma was really good. Go and try it. The bartender was skilled and could help put with deciding a tasty beer.

Vegan Fish Fry! - Edit
Comet is one of the few places that allows vegan Wisconsinites to participate in the tradition of Friday Fish Fry. The “meat” itself is seasoned tofu, so it doesnt offer a fish-like texture but the batter is golden and crispy, exactly the way I like it, with tartar sauce and all the fixins.

I thought they'd have one or two dishes, but they really have a lot of vegan options! Super satisfied with the dishes on offer. Everything was delicious. Great choice for dining near the beach.

Fishless fry!!! - Edit
Comet is the only place around to get a vegan fish(less) fry, only on Fridays. It's simply made out of tofu with good breading, but I think it's delicious. They also have several other vegan options labeled, but if you're there on a Friday, get the fish!!
