Coconuts are NOT VEGAN

Awsome vegan restaurant inside of a hostel. Beautiful outdoor seating at the water edge. Staff speaks English. Best coconut soup I’ve had in Thailand!

Thai coconuts are not vegan. They use slave labor of monkeys to harvest the coconuts for them. Monkeys are chained when not working and work Monday- Saturday from 9-5, with a short lunch break.

The training that the monkeys require is CRUEL and unnacceptable. Please vegans make some noise about

Why has this review been hidden? I cannot see how it violates terms. It makes positive comments about the business and has given it five stars. As for the issue of the treatment of macaques in the coconut industry there are references for this online.

Definitely Not Vegan

They do "vegan options" serves every animal abuse product under the sun. When I asked about it, the Russian woman making breakfast laughed at me and said they all love to eat meat. 👍🍩

Apparently there is a Thai woman who comes and makes vegetarian food on some days, but not all days, but as I was offered dairy milk for coffee yogurt and eggs for breakfast, I asked if there were any vegans there at all and I was told one of the Israeli owners was "sometimes vegetarian" but nobody else. When I refused to order or spend money, I explained why and the Russian woman laughed at me. Fake vegans (and hippies, yogis, healers, spiritualists) are very common around here using it as a marketing term.

The Thai kitchen in Colorful Hut is completely vegan as you can see in all other reviews, pictures of menus etc...
There is also a communal kitchen for the resort where guests can make whatever they want for themselves but every products that we are selling in Colorful Hut is vegan. Also the breakfasts serves to our guests in Colorful Hut are only vegan (no egg, no dairy, no meet, no fish or anything that is not plant-based :). I'm sorry i'm not visiting HappyCow platform so often so I didn't see this review but it's easy for everyone to see your review is the fake one.
Anyway, everyone are welcome to come to Colorful Hut and see for themselves.
Thank you for your help :)

Well, as you (the owner) were there the day I was, I am unable to attribute the activities of the person in the kitchen to ignorance on your behalf. She pointed at you and your wife and said, "See those old, fat Israelis? They are the owners and they are not vegan." Now, despite this being in itself a poor experience since vegans quite definitely can gain weight just like anybody, and the ageism involved, I am unmoved by your current message. I can see other reviewers have found vegan thai food at your hostel since my visit, but it was not available to me and I was absolutely offered a "regular breakfast" by the Russian woman standing in the kitchen by the beach. For a fee. Thus selling anti-vegan products. If she was breaking the rules, she was doing so five feet away from where you were sitting. She also claimed she was living there with her partner and young son, working in trade for accommodations making her an employee. I really wanted to come and stay and enjoy a vegan hostel environment owned and operated by vegans, you can understand my motivation to write a negative review on my disappointment. What would be my motivation to write a fake review? Please provide some evidence for challenging the integrity of my reporting other than simply, that it makes your business look bad to vegans. As this was during covid, I can imagine times were tough finding help and rules were perhaps ignored and unenforced, but to come to my review and call me a liar, well you can see what the result is. Even more negative attention. As a public relations authority, I would suggest in the future apologizing rather than adding further insult. "Whatever product they want" is a clear admission your hostel is not exclusively vegan, do better, and please don't let the color of colorful hut be the color of the blood of tortured and murdered baby animals. Have a nice day.

A free-for-all murder kitchen is not a vegan space.

I suggest you look at the over 700 reviews on Booking or over 150 reviews on Google on both the resort and the Vegan food at Colorful Hut, showing beyond any shadow of a doubt, every word you wrote is a lie and this in fact never happened. Your response is another proof of that as the owners of the place are under 40 years old and weigh less than 200 pounds together... Not that we feel nationalities or weight should require all the negative attention you are choosing to project, but just to clarify how false the information shared is.
This page is for all the food we sell at Colorful Hut where we serve only vegan food. We also only serve and sell vegan food for our guests at the resort, however unlike you, we respect others people right to choose for themselves and do not control what they cook in their free time. This has nothing to do with this page or what we sell which is only vegan.
We are not sure if you are mistaken or simply had a bad experience in life and on a personal vendetta to hurt people who never met you, but all that's left for us to do is wish you all the best.

I don’t like the implication that expecting a vegan space to be free of the products of animal abuse/slaughter is somehow unreasonable or controlling. It is simply what makes it a vegan space. It does not deprive people of the choice to go elsewhere and consume corpses.

I am sorry you fail to understand the clear information shared. We only sell vegan food as clear from our menus and all 900 revies on different platforms. Guests staying at the resort can however eat and make for themselves whatever they like. In no place do we write the resort is vegan, despite only selling vegan products ourselves. Not sure why and where all your pain and anger comes from but based on the fact all information shared by you was false, I don't think we are the right address. Best of luck in life. I hope you will be treated with more compassion, respect and truth than you choose to impose on others. This will be our final attempt to reply to your nonsense.

And by the way, thanks very much Or! You really "fleshed" out what kind of place this is, and what the management's primary concerns are. To'da!
