A gem, well worth a visit. - Edit
Haworth's an interesting place with lots of little shops & places to visit. Most of the eateries have great vegan food. This one was busy & has separate menus for vegans with lots of options & even more on the specials board.
Read moreWe tried the butternut squash dhal which came with onion bajhis, mint yoghurt, mango pickle & flatbread.
Afterwards we tried the vegan pancakes with a variety of toppings. Both were large portions & very filling.
The food quality is excellent & very imaginative. Its also good to see teapigs teas rather than the usual boring stuff.
Plenty of people were creating art after their meals with & without children.
Pros: Full vegan menu, Great prices, Plastic free teas
Cons: Can be busy so booking is recommended.

Pleased to find a vegan menu with a number of choices. Service quick, on a busy day, and food was good. I had the butternut squash Dahl (I'd have liked it s bit thicker) with bhajis & flatbread & all very tasty.
Read moreHubby enjoyed the bhaji sandwich.
Both enjoyed an oat milk chai latte.
We weren't asked about allergies: so I'd make sure you do.

Beware. - Edit
We were pleasantly surprised and grateful when during an overnight stay in Howarth we saw the vegan menu at Cobbles & Clay cafe. Returning the next day for breakfast we experienced additional surprises but not of the grateful kind.
Read moreThe previous day we’d had a few coffee’s sat outside watching the Howarth world go by. The coffee’s were unremarkable save for being tepid and not very flavoursome. The coffee we had with breakfast was different again, hotter and with more flavour.
We ordered the Cobbles breakfasts from the vegan menu, surprised not to be asked if we had any allergies.
Our coffee’s arrived, latte and americano both with oat-milk. My partner quickly realised she’d been given cow’s milk - upsetting and potentially dangerous. My partner informed one of the staff members who, without comment, took the coffee away and returned with another. No apology, no explanation, no concern, just a look of annoyance as though we were being a nuisance. Not a good start.
One of the kitchen staff came to our table and pointing to the meat menu asked us if we wanted the Cobbles breakfast or the Full Breakfast. We said we’d ordered the Cobbles breakfast and off she went. Feeling a bit confused - as there wasn’t a Full Breakfast option on the vegan menu - we sought out and asked another member of staff to clarify with the kitchen staff that we’d ordered from the vegan menu.
Our vegan breakfasts duly arrived with two “dairy free” stickers attached to the plates. We weren’t asked if we wanted any sauces.
Not much to say about the breakfasts other than they were basic and more of an expensive snack than a hearty breakfast to set us up for the day. It’s hard to see why something more substantial couldn’t be offered, especially when compared to the sizes of the meals we saw delivered to other customers.
Soon after leaving the cafe my partner realised we’d been overcharged (we have the evidence). I was all for returning to the cafe, but my partner, still upset at the staff’s attitude and being fed cow’s milk, wasn’t.
In summary, although we’re grateful that Cobbles & Clay offer a vegan-specific menu, the negative aspects of our experience far outweighed the menu.
Pros: Pleasant venue., Nice vibe., Arty.
Cons: Poorly trained staff., Badly mannered staff.

Lovely vegan sandwich and fun clay painting! - Edit
This is such a cute place in Haworth. Very relaxing vibe and fun pottery painting whilst you eat. I had the Bombay Bhaji sandwich and it was lovely. The only issue I had was it was a tiny bit dry but still nice! I would recommend booking if going on the weekend but we managed to get a table upstairs on a walk in.

Nice coffee spot - Edit
Lovely café near the Bronte museum with many vegan options clearly labelled on the menu and at the counter. We tried a indian styled sandwhich and carrot cake, both tasted nice.

Good food but poor experience - Edit
I feel like their isn't a lot of choice but the food I had was good non the less. I've been twice now and both times the staff haven't been the best, spending 2 hours in once after consistently asking to order.

Really Disappointing - Edit
One star is for the staff, who all seemed very helpful - including the chef. One for having vegan options on the menu.
Read moreAfraid to say the food was horrid and inedible. The 'lentil' soup had never seen a lentil - it was a bowl of thickly sliced carrots cooked in a tin of tomatoes with a couple of raw cauliflower florets. The main was supposed to be a Bombay Bhaji Butty, we asked for no peanut chutney because neither of us like peanuts but the lukewarm bhajis were sprinkled with peanuts (crunchy Bombay mix) and served on stale bread that need a saw to cut through. The Coca Cola was warmer than the meal, given with hot glasses straight out of the dishwasher and no ice. Can't believe we paid £33 and left still hungry.
The place smelled like it needed a good clean and there were cobwebs hanging over us. I feel bad but this was really poor. 🙁
Pros: Nice staff, Vegan options
Cons: Inedible, tasteless cold food, Warm cola, Dirty surroundings

Good vegan brunch/lunch option - Edit
Decent avo on sourdough toast with seeds sprinkled on top and side salad. Can’t really go too wrong with this meal, bit stingey with the avo though!

Some vegan options! - Edit
Nice place - they have a couple of options that can be served as a vegan version - clearly labelled. Would be better to just make these vegan anyway, avoid confusion or doubt! Had the Dahl which was very hearty and tasty and a delicious cocoa shake/smoothie.

Excellent lunch - main, cake and smoothie for £15 - Edit
I went into Cobbles and Clay on a school trip, having had a recommendation from a colleague and not expecting to find many vegan options in Haworth (due to its size).
Read moreI ordered the falafel, which was really delicious. The flatbread was warm, the falafel not too dry and the hummus very tasty. The meal arrived really quickly as well. I had a Raspberry Heaven smoothie, which was also scrummy and helped stave off a cold I could feel approaching. Then I followed all that with a vegan chocolate and orange cake, which was smooth, creamy and just the right amount of chocolate for me. I left feeling pleasantly full and would definitely recommend this to any vegans passing through Haworth for lunch. Although they do serve meat and dairy, that wasn't obvious from the smell or other people's meals and the staff are very attentive and friendly. Another bonus is that you can paint some pottery here if you have time! Very child-friendly too.

Great vegan options in a small village - Edit
I came to Haworth to see where the Bronte sisters lived and didn't really expect to find good vegan food, so I was totally surprised to find such a nice place as Cobbles and Clay. And of course on my second visit to Haworth, I went there again!
Read moreUnfortunately this is not a 100% vegetarian or vegan place and there are some meat dishes on the menu, but really not a lot of them. Most meals are vegetarian and can easily be made vegan if you ask for it. I had a tasty falafel meal for lunch and returned for a banana shake in the afternoon. All shakes and other dairy meals or drinks can be done with soy milk.
The atmosphere in the cafe is very friendly and relaxed, as this is an art cafe where you can paint your own pottery, so it is also very colourful. Staff are very friendly and happy to answer your questions.
I think it was lovely to find such a veg*n-friendly eatery in a rural place like this where it is often difficult to find healthy and tasty food, so I highly recommend this cafe if you happen to be a Bronte-fan and come to Haworth.
Pros: Affordable prices, A lot of vegan options, Very friendly place
Cons: Some meals need to be adapted
