Quality market - Edit
This use to be my go to spot for lunch while in the area. I really liked the juice bar which has a variety of choices and I do believe the produce is organic. They did have a solid salad and hot food bar that was really good but I am not sure if that still currently functioning due to the health and safety measures going on with cv. Overall the market has a great selection of health food products, supplements, snacks, beverages etc that other health food stores don’t stock. Browse the aisles and I’m certain you’ll find something to be excited to find.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Good Market - Edit
I am a member who shops frequently at te Santa Monica Co-op. Here's my updated review for HappyCow.
Read moreIt's a good size natural food market that's well-stocked with a range of natural foods, household products, and grocery including organic things.
The deli area is not all vegetarian but offers some hot & cold foods that are vegan and vegetarian friendly. There is also a juice and coffee bar.
The refrigerated foods section features a wide range of package raw entrees and desserts, sushi rolls, and ready-to-eat foods many of which are vegetarian and vegan friendly.
Since the remodel, a self-service salad bar and a soup bar have been added and overall, the entire market looks quite nice and feels spacious.
Pros: community oriented, good selections, good vibes

Love that all their produce is now organic!

For any turkey eaters: their Deli has slice, unsalted turkey breast that is hormone free...and tastes like REAL Turkey! Not processed Boars Head bullsh*t :)

Certain Items are Over-Priced - Edit
The cashiers are really kind. A handful of times, the deli people seem less-than-enthusiastic and a bit impatient.

Cons: Parking lot is crowded at times

Great Grocery - Edit
This place is where I do all my grocery shopping. The bulk section is large. The only things missing are a lot of liquid bulk items and surprisingly, wheat gluten. They have a great sandwich bar, vegan beer and wine selection, and other prepared foods.

Totally join for $25 a year you get $40 in coupons - Edit
I joined a month ago and was shocked when I got $40 in free stuff that I had gone to buy there anyways! Woot! Its a really nice Co-Op. I wish they were more vegan friendly in the deli. There is a nice selection of vegan meals from vegan kitchen near the fruit area and some more random MRE vegan foods.

Deli and Refrigerated Food Case - Edit
The deli is not all vegetarian but offers around 4 vegetarian sandwiches (hummus, veggie, tempeh, veggie burger). The changing hot foods bar usually has a few veggie options. Vegans have limited choices but can find something to eat.
Read moreThe ready-to-eat refrigerated food section offers a larger selectio of vegan and vegetarian options, including many raw meals and raw desserts, as well as cooked veggie food.
Prices are reasonable and cheap, except for the prepared raw food items which are on the pricey side.
Gets busy at lunchtime. But a decent place to get a quick bite or take something to go.

Great selection - Edit
I love this store because there are so many vegan "convenience" foods. There is a hot deli and a cold deli loaded with goodies. They sell a lot of vegan cosemetics that I otherwise have to purchase online--which isn't the greatest when you need to see with your own eyes if it's the color you want. They also sell a lot of food items that I can't find anywhere else. I consider this the vegan version of a grocery store!
Read moreOne annoying thing is that they use a lot of plastic bags and provide wet wipes (which I did actually see being used) for snooty people that don't want to touch the handle of a cart that someone else has. Those things never degrade! Why not offer a bottle spritzer of vinegar instead?
Also, get rid of the meat section! What a gross thing to see in the middle of shopping!
I'm from the East Coast, but whenever I'm in town visiting my friend, we make sure to hit up the Co-op to stock up on groceries and goodies I can't get back home.
Pros: Great selection, Good location, Lots of vegan items
Cons: SELLS MEAT, Not environmentally friendly, Parking is a nightmare

Great Places - Edit
The Co-op offers a good selection fresh fruits and vegetables, foods, snacks, raw foods, deli foods, and natural supplements. It has a very relaxed community feel, and shopping here is always pleasant. My family joined the membership because we support the members-owned concept. But anyone can shop here, and I highly recommend it.
