A surprising range of vegan options - Edit
We stumbled upon this place entirely by accident. We’d just completed an early morning hike around the ‘four waterfalls trail’; as we were walking back to the car we saw the “herbivores welcome” sign hanging on a gate and had to investigate.
Read moreThis isn’t fine dining. The food is exactly what you’d expect when served from a shed in the middle of nowhere. The range of vegan options was really impressive, though! Sausages, bacon, cheese, toasties, flapjack, loads more that I can’t remember because I’m writing this review two weeks later.
On chatting to the proprietor we discovered that her daughter and son-in-law are vegan and that she believes it’s always important to cater for a plant based diet.
This isn’t particularly somewhere worth going out of your way to visit but is an absolute godsend when you’ve just finished a long walk and the hunger/thirst is real.
Three stars for the food, an extra star for being so proactive and offering such a wide array of plant based options despite being in the middle of nowhere in a part of the world where vegans are not generally well catered for.
Pros: Lots of vegan options , Super friendly and chatty owner , Location, location, location
