Vegetarian food truck company turned brick & mortar with several outlets throughout the Boston Metro Area. Serves burgers, sandwiches, vegetable platters, fries, daily soup, hot & cold beverages and more. Menu changes by the minute to keep up with daily available produce from farms in New England. For this reason, there is no set or static menu. Most dishes can be made vegan upon request. Open Mon 11:30am-8:00pm, Tue-Sun 11:00am-8:00pm.

Solid vegan options to go - Edit
I love clover! The locations inside Whole Foods don't offer as many choices, but still great. This time we ordered the mezze platter and chickpea fritter platter. We usually order their spicy BBQ and Cauliflower sandwiches.

Best food inside whole foods - Edit
The food at clover lab inside Whole Foods is so much better than all of the other Whole Foods prepared food that honestly I don’t know why people buy stuff from the hot bar. Everything that I’ve tried at clover lab has been impeccably flavored, well thought out, very wholesome, unprocessed, it tastes like the food was actually made by someone with intentional goodness in their heart, if you believe in that stuff! It costs a bit more, but I do not mind paying because I feel like I am contributing to a good business. Plus, the food is absolutely worth it. According to the shopping bag that the food comes in, clover lab was started by vegan MIT grads who are trying to introduce vegan food to the communities.

Mostly vegetarian - Edit
They do have already vegan options but not many. It’s mostly vegetarian and typically they don’t make substitutions. You can remove things such a cheese but cannot add. Each location has a different menu daily so be sure to check the menu ahead of time if you want to make sure they have what you want.

Good in a Pinch - Edit
Good:
Read moreReally loved this place when I first discovered it. They have an entirely meatless menu and make food fresh to order. They also at one point (not sure if this is still true) composted all their trash, so anything from inside Clover you threw out you could feel relatively good about (I later heard of a scandal involving the company they contracted to do said composting, who was actually just throwing it in landfills, so I'm not sure how true this is or ever was).
The food is pretty good. Their flagship thing is their pita bread which is made fresh every day and is pretty fluffy and delicious. Sides are good. Overall pretty cheap.
Bad:
For a vegetarian place, I'm pretty surprised at how vegan-unfriendly it is. Most stuff has egg, buttermilk, etc. in it with no good replacements, so very few vegan choices. It almost seems like the leadership is stubborn on this front too - they refuse customizing orders and you basically get menu items as-is (not sure if this is still true since I haven't tried in a while now) . Lots of stuff that is pretty darn close to being vegan still isn't, with no way to make it such, and they seem to be entirely unconcerned with changing that despite lots of requests from customers.
Overall a decent place but pretty underwhelming and mildly disappointing also.
Pros: Reasonable price, Pretty tasty, Lots of sides
Cons: Mostly vegetarian but not vegan, Rigid menu, not custom-order-friendly, Bad leadership

Great vegan options. - Edit
The menu has many vegan options. I had the Sharan platter. It was spicy and delicious. My mouth is tingling and my belly is full.

More vegetarian than vegan - Edit
Clovers always good to fall back on, but it seems most of the things that could be vegan (impossible meatballs) arent for an irreversible reason (have egg added into it). There are a few solid options like the chickpea fritters which is basically a falafel plate.

brilliant - Edit
this is the second clover I've visited and the food, yet again, was amazing. I'd not realised though that this was just a takeaway place. great food, but I'd have liked to be able to sit and eat it there.
