Great Spot For Vegans! - Edit
Clio Lounge is the Bangor location of the UK chain Cafè Lounges Bars. Its menu and decor are as varied and attractive as other Lounge bar locations, and it really is a great spot for vegans - especially when dining out with meat eaters.
Read moreMenus are set out on the tables when visiting, but they have double-sided 'Vegan' and 'Gluten Free' menus available by the bar. You can order from the bar or by scanning the bar code at the tables, and there is a 'vegan' section present on the digital ordering system. The Lounges website also has an option to view Vegan only options if you wanted to look at their menu prior to visiting.
I had the Peachy Keen homemade juice drink, which was sweet and refreshing, and to eat, I had the Vegan Mexican Superbowl and the tapas dish Vegan Bang Bang Fried Cauliflower as a side. The food was well flavoured, and the portion was decent, and I particularly enjoyed the fried cauliflower side. I would certainly visit Clio Lounge again as it has a nice atmosphere, great staff and plenty of choice for vegans!
Pros: Lots of Choice, Wide Variety
Cons: No Plant Milks Available via Digital Ordering

Not amazing but alright - Edit
Had the vegan cheese burger. Taste was good, but the beyond meat patty was kind of small and the burger was very greasy from the cheese and such. Could have had more salad to balance it out. I don’t feel the need to return for another meal.

Cons: What you’d expect from a non-vegan restaurant

Great food - Edit
First trip to the lounge and was not disappointed. Large choice for vegan food all displayed on a separate menu. Despite customising our meal they came perfectly and piping hot.

Great food - Edit
I had a lovely vegan burger and chips. To be honest I would say this was the best vegan beyond burger I have EVER had. It had so much flavour, lovely sauce and piping hot but not over cooked which most places seem to do.
Read moreChips were tasty and needed no sauce just lovely as they were. Good vegan caulslaw too.
Easy to order online so good if going with friends don’t have to deal with splitting the bill.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Best vegan beyond burger I’ve had. EVER, Great chips
Cons: None

Good range of options for a chain - Edit
I’ve been to another one of this chain and the food is exactly the same, in a good way. The Beyond burger is epic and a good size, also comes with fries. A couple of bowl options too; you can add extras to all meals like avo, fries, loaded vegan fries, mushrooms, etc. would recommend.
Read morePros: Lots of options, At table ordering, Easy to add sides/options to salads/burgers/bowls
Cons: A chain , Location (not it’s fault)

Good range and pleasant - Edit
Although we were looking for an independent place ideally, we arrived in Bangor on a Sunday and it seemed that Clio Lounge was the only place open!
Read moreHaving said that, the place had a good atmosphere, friendly and quick service and the food was really good. I had the vegan BLT sandwich with fries, followed by the chocolate and orange slice. Both were amazing and I would definitely have them again. Alternative milks available for teas and coffees, and they understand vegan completely.
Pros: Wide range, Really friendly staff, Dessert!
Cons: A chain

Good vegan options - Edit
We visited in September 2020 and the menu had a good range of vegan options from small tapas style dishes to full on burger/hot dogs and chips. Dessert was also available and wines that were vegan were marked on the menu.
