Great for a midday drink

The impressive selection of teas and the beautiful premises make claremont worth visiting any day. There is a nice food menu which has partially carried over from the kennedy and rhind bistro which recently closed in Jesmond, and partially supplies the usual selection of dot bagels. The food is much more prohibitively expensive than the drinks.

Pros: Nice selection of teas , Beautiful building, Dot bagels supplied!

Cons: Expensive food, Awkward waiting for takeaway, no allocated space

Super sweet Cakes & trashy Chai Latte

Had a Brownie (nonvegan) and a Chai Latte with oat milk and everything was so sticky-sweet I couldn’t finish it. They said it’s not possible to make a chai that’s less sweet, which means to me that they are using a concentrate despite of fresh tea for their chai latte. Really disappointed by the poor quality for the quite expensive food.

Cons: Expensive, Way toooooo sweet/too much sugar

Terrific Teahouse

Can't really fault our visit here where we shared a lovely refreshing pure rooibos tea, a delicious flapjack and a bowl of hash pops.

Before Claremont, this used to be Quilliams where I was a frequent visitor, but not much has changed in terms of interior and exterior. The relaxing vibe also remains. The main change I found is there is now a lot more savoury options with dot bagels in particular a highlight. A chat with the friendly staff also revealed more vegan sweet options are to be introduced too.

Great to have this teahouse back in the city.

Pros: Selection of teas, Choice , Staff & vibe
