Great riverside location, yummy food

A creative range of vegan options, including a yummy burger with kale actually inside the bun. Their vegan bao buns are also delicious. The location of the café is lovely, right on the river, with seats outside for a sunny day, and of course your can go to the cinema. Also, it is licensed.

Pancakes are also delicious - American style, with fruit, seeds and flowers 😋

And the milkshakes! So sugary and so delicious. Recommend.

Pleasant surprise

I have lived in York for a couple of years and only recently visited city screen to watch an after work film.
Me and my husband are both vegan and we’re really blown away by the choices on offer as opposed to the usual offerings of falafel burgers and hummus.
There’s a really good menu with pizzas, wraps, burgers, a katsu curry and salad bowls.
We really enjoyed our meal and if we’d had room there’s a lovely selection of vegan sweets and ice cream to either eat in the restaurant or tubs to take into your screening.

Wonderful Cake

We only stopped for coffee/tea and cake. Lots of lovely options. The Biscoff cake was dreamy and the chai tea latte with oatmilk hit the spot. We sat outside on the terrace in the sunshine and watched the river cruises go by.

Edit: went back two days later to have lunch. The falafel on flatbread were great.

Lovely setting good choice

Have visited frequently for years and always interesting vegan options that are nice. Hard to get a seat though and to be honest would prefer it if you didn't go. Thanks

Pros: Central, Good options

Cons: Gets busy
