Awesome offerings, rude workers - Edit
All vegan, reliably delicious baked goods! Their mac and cheese is so good too! I love that they’ve offered vegan gf sweet treats for so long! An unfortunate feature that has existed since the first shop on 900 S is the rude, sometimes volatile workers.

So-So - Edit
We stopped in hoping to eat lunch but surprised it was only baked goods and a small selection of prepared foods (soup, chickpea salad, Mac and cheese) that you could buy to take home and heat up. We ended up purchasing cupcakes which were so-so. Very much appreciate an all vegan bakery- thankful for that!

Delicious cookies! - Edit
So many options, the chocolate chip cookie was the standout, soft in the middle and crisp on the outside.
Read moreThe parfait was really good, maybe a little too much jam for my taste.
The staff member was really friendly, though I think she thought I was impatiently waiting, cos I was concentrating on what to get and probably looked annoyed.
Pros: Perfectly baked cookies, Friendly service, Huge range

Simple and Tasty - Edit
If I'm in the area and in need of a snack or three, City Cakes is definitely where I'd go.
Read moreThe cookies were delicious, the cheesecake was too--the nacho snack box I got would absolutely suffice for a quick lunch if I worked in the area or needed a fast fix.
Pros: Quick and convenient, Tasty treats, Pre-made grab-and-go snacks
Cons: The nachos and crumbles were a bit dry/stale

We have been picking up bakery items here for years. The cake is out of this world good. We have tried just about everything they offer and everything is GREAT. You can also get some of their baked goods at Harmons and Wholefoods.

Fantastic! - Edit
Fantastic baked goods at this vegan bakery. The pre-made meals to go were fresh and delicious. Plenty of options and my non-vegan friends also loved their meals and desserts.

GF cinnamon roll - Edit
Had two starving children and an hour past lunch time. The chi’cken salad was ok (though the pitas were a big hit). The Jack fruit sloppy’joe was decent. But the GF cinnamon roll and brownie sure saved the day.

New Favorite! - Edit
I go here all the time for their incredible desserts. I've tried their cheesecake, lemon bars, mint brownies, cinnamon rolls, snickerdoodles, and lemon blueberry scones, all of which were amazing. I tried their mac and cheese, and while it doesn't quite taste cheesy, it tastes like pasta from chicken noodle soup, funny enough. It was flavorful and delicious, especially with lots of salt. Definitely a good lunch and amazing dessert. Love you City Cakes! 😁

Epic baked goods! - Edit
They have a massive selection of baked goods both gluten free and not. Best gluten free baked goods I have ever had. Also have a selection of entrees like the sausage and potato burrito. Staff is really nice. Space is large and clean. Their baked goods are also easily found at local grocery stores.

I had the peanut butter bar (fudgey brownie with peanut butter and chocolate on top). It was delicious! Also grabbed the chick’n salad sandwich and it hit the spot for our day trip to antelope island.

Attentive friendly staff! Had a huge selection of various kinds of baked goods.

Overall, very positive experience and would love to come back again if we are in the area.
Pros: Tons of options: scones, cupcakes, muffins, etc, Friendly, COVID conscious staff, Reasonably priced
Cons: Great quality baked goods, but not the best ever

I was beginning to think I would have to bake all the desserts. But this place proved me wrong! Everything is vegan and most is gluten free. To say this was delicious is an extreme understatement. Beyond awesome. Non vegan husband couldn’t stop raving!

The friendliest little bakery in town - Edit
I stopped by for lunch and got the jackfruit sloppy joe. The food is pre made ahead of time but still fresh and delicious! There is a microwave, utensils and plates etc if you want to eat there. Also everyone was so incredibly sweet, they offered to toast my bread without me even asking, made sure I had everything else I needed and the array of wonderful baked goods was incredible. I asked for a recommendation of what to try and the brownie did not disappoint! If I come back to Utah I will definitely make a point to visit again. Without Happy Cow I never would have found this place since it’s tucked away a little next to a major grocery store.

I had a friend who ordered a birthday cake here. It was vanilla and had marzipan, buttercream frosting, and raspberry filling. I'm not kidding, it was the best cake I've ever had in my entire life. Then I went in and got a cupcake, and it was delicious.

So many options - Edit
This is one amazing bakery. I come to the SLC area to visit my brother and his wife is gluten free. Having an all vegan restaurant with a ton of gluten free options, made in a dedicated gluten free space, is perfect for us. I have been to their first location and this was my first visit to the new location. I split the Mac n cheeze and the tempeh salad sandwich with my boyfriend. Both were great- especially the Mac n cheeze. We also tried a sample of the peanut butter bar (unbelievably good); we then got a bunch of stuff to take with us: a donut (good), gluten free lemon blueberry scone (delicious), gluten free blueberry muffin (delicious- especially the crumb topping), and a gluten free snickerdoodle cookie (good). My is my new favorite SLC lunch and baked goods stop.
