Celebrated and central - Edit
Nothing is more 'accidentally vegan' than Turkish çiğ köfte (literally, 'raw meatballs'): the original, bloody version was banned by the government and vendors racked their brains to find a tasty plant-based substitute. Now, a vegetarian dürüm is no longer a pipe-dream! Ali Usta is very famous on social media, but I found mine a bit strong on the lemon side.

Cheap and easy wraps - Edit
Echoing the other reviews, this is cheap and cheerful (a wrap is 25 TKR) and what you see if what you get. There was a long queue which moved quickly and it was very popular with locals. I was able to order in English.

Quick and cheap service. They offer a variety of vegan Turkish wraps, with drinks (only non vegan item is a yoghurt drink). It was very nice! Spicy wrap wasn't too spicy.

Delicious Cig Kofte Wrap - Edit
The cig kofte wrap was absolutely delicious. The guy preparing it told us what goes in the wrap and was so enthusiastic. Could choose between spicy and non-spicy (spicy has a good kick but not overwhelming). Incredibly affordable for 18 lira per wrap! It seemed very popular with the locals, we were the only tourists at the time. I would definitely recommend this place to try if getting hungry when out exploring Istanbul!

I’m sad to give the place 2* because the staff had a fun vibe, it felt very authentically Turkish and it’s so cheap and filling, but unfortunately the wrap just wasn’t very nice at all. I’m usually not picky with food but no one in our group of 3 liked the flavour of the wrap.

Cigkofte in general is a must try dish in Turkey, but 4 stars because this place doesn't have as many fillings as some other places, just lettuce, lemon, and pomegranate sauce. Also sometimes leaves the lemon seeds in the wrap because he works crazy fast - beware when you eat! It's 7tl for a wrap (2021), can't beat the price.

You pay first to the man standing on the side of the kiosk. He will give you the plastic pouch for the durum. Then when you get to your turn in line, the man behind the kiosk will ask your preferred spice level and will prepare your durum. He will ask you to hold your plastic pouch open and he puts the durum inside the plastic. Done!

Placed in a small side street just higher and across of Sirkeci Station. Such a kind and welcoming shef and employees! And about the dish... So delicious! There're little spicy and more spicy wrap 🙂 I went for a little spicy and I wasn't wrong, it gives a little more sharm to the dish. Go for it, try it, no matter vegan or non-vegan 😋 FYI one wrap costs 6 TL and keeps you full for a long time, and if you see long queue don't get scared, it goes fast 🙂

Wow what an experience. The chef is a character with an awesome personality. It's 6tl (2020) and they offer a wrap with lettuce, pom sauce, and bulgur wheat. Line moves fast, spicy isn't too 🔥 and it's super tasty! Yogurt is non-vegan.
