Surprisingly good for airport food - Edit
The noodles were really good and didn’t even need more seasoning.

Good vegan options - Edit
Clearly marked, vegan options. I grabbed salt and pepper just in case the food was tasteless, but the noodles with vegan chicken and tofu was delicious! Good drink options as well, such as vegan protein drinks.

Looked great - Edit
I checked this place out when I came through security. It’s in terminal 3 (American Airlines). The food looked okay, pricey though. 5 vegan options as mentioned in the other reviews. You do the check out yourself.

Easy to grab - Edit
Food is ok, best part is that it’s fast and you don’t need to worry about grabbing something laced with milk or whatever.

Pleasantly Surprised - Edit
Of course they have snacky snacks, but I was so happy to find a clearly marked vegan noodle dish. The Singapore “chicken” noodles were very tastey and would probably be even better warm.

Thai drunken noodles - Edit
Thee were AMAZING! Pleasant surprise. But while there were plenty of snack options (hummus, chips, fruit) there were not as many vegan meal options as I was expecting based on the reviews.

Wow—a whole row of vegan options at ORD - Edit
Expectations while at airports are low so this was a very happy Happy Cow find. Items are made by a vegan company so you don’t have to worry about ingredients. All pre-made for take out, and all cold, but some very good looking choices. A little strange that some of the items are all protein (eg veggie ribs) that would be intense to eat without sides. I also would have liked the option to heat the wrap I got but I guess that’s not allowed. But I’m not complaining because this place is a rarity in airport worlds.

Lots of options, expensive - Edit
The shop is located in the main hall of terminal 2, opposite the sushi bar and next to the French bakery (not too far from Starbucks). For a vegan eggplant Parmesan, berries and yogurt I spent $20, thankfully had an airline meal voucher. Not sure I would have paid that much otherwise. Food was good and staff was friendly

Decent selection - Edit
They have a decent selection of some vegan sandwiches and salads, and even chocolates. But it's all extremely overpriced (as one would expect for an airport, and then some). Sandwiches are ok - it's nice to at least have a selection, but they are not the best.

Thank you O'Hare! - Edit
I had the kale salad and the buffalo tofu which was so good I wish I could buy it somewhere else! I'm here now on my returning flight and I'm so disappointed that they're out today! The chik'n salad is ok. I love that they have a ton of options including fresh fruit, fresh veggies with hummus and raw almonds. This is an oasis in the airport. Also check out the yoga room in the rotunda nearby.

Thanks for the Soul Vegetarian Items! - Edit
This was my second stop at Cibo Express at O’Hare where I specifically sought out the vegan items produced by Soul Vegetarian Restaurant. Several items were offered including kale salad, two wraps, lasagna, and a box with crackers, hummus, kale salad and carrots. My husband and I got each of the wraps, which were very tasty. But, at $7.99, they were really expensive. I guess that’s to be expected in an airport. Thank you, Cibo Express, for offering vegan options in a non-vegan world!

vegan food at the airport! - Edit
I recently found myself with a few hours to kill and a fierce appetite while waiting to catch a flight at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD).
Read moreCibo Express is in Terminal 2. They had a big sign with their vegan, veggie, organic, and gluten-free options.
Cibo Express features several tasty items from Soul Gourmet. The cheesecake was tempting, but I wanted something savory. I dashed over to the counter looking for the Mac n Cheese.
To my dismay, I only found the cheesecake. They were sold out of the kale salad as well. I chatted with the cashier, and she said they were expecting a shipment within the hour. It came about 15 minutes later, so I got it.
It was a bit frozen from it’s cold journey outside before entering the airport. I let it warm up in my backpack before enjoying it on the plane. It was surprisingly good. The rice noodles worked well with the “cheesy” flavor from the nutritional yeast. I would buy it again.
Pros: vegan friendly
