Cool atmosphere

Chou is an amazing place to go when you're out with non-vegans. The garden is beautiful, and it has a really cool atmosphere! Be sure to make a reservation in advance as it gets crowded even on weekdays. The menu is clear about which options can be made vegan, and staff can explain in more detail. There are no substitutions such as vegan cheese, what they normally do is replace butter with olive oil or simply omit the non-vegan ingredient. I ordered the vegan version of the chickpea stew (which was the original dish minus the yogurt), and it was quite tasty! The portion was a bit small for the price, though. They have a vegan dessert, which is a baked pineapple, and it's delicious! Again, more money than I would think it's reasonable for a slice of pineapple. But it's good to have an option! #Veganuary

Cons: Expensive, Menu can be confusing, Substitutions are not impressive
