Best Aloo Gobi!!!

We were visiting Pattaya for 8 days and visited several times! We love spicy food but they did ask us to make sure we were okay with it.

I recommend (Vegan) :

- Aloo Gobi
- Lacha Paratha
- Masala Dosa (sourdough bread like flavor)
- Samosas
- Chana Masala
- Tandoori Roti

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Great flavor and variety!, Friendly Staff

Cons: They don’t display vegan options on the menu.

A not so good experience

Just across the mall, we walked in hoping to find some good Indian Vegan and Vegetarian food.

Just a few folks after the busy lunch time. Seated quickly and ordered a Thali with Methi Aloo, Mixed Veggies, daal and rice with two rotis. Also ordered a Chaat Papdi without yogurt. The food took a while to come out which was surprising as very few people in restaurant and seemed like we ordered standard dishes.

The food was equally disappointing. The rotis too dry. The mixed veggies did not seem to come from fresh veggies and looked like frozen veggies. And to boot without any flavour or proper seasonings. The potatoes were good and daal was average.

The Chaat papri was disappointing as well. No balance of flavours of sweet, spicy, sourness, and crunchy. Too salty for our taste.

Pros: All Vegetarian , Vegan Friendly

Cons: Not so good food we had, Not so good service experience

10/10 every time!

I visited Chotivala 4 times whilst living in Thailand every time I was so absolutely satisfied. Twice I had the masala dosa- incredible potato curry filling and the dips are delicious.
Onion masala dosa which was just as delicious with some garlic naan.
And tomato and onion uttapam.. a bit thicker than the dosa but still yummy with tawa roti

Pros: amazing friendly faces every time and helpful with

North Indian Thali

I tried the North Indian Thali.

The taste was good.
The use of frozen veg in there mix veg curry was a disappointment.
Generally it was a good taste. But the quality could have been better.

There are many Indian restaurants in Pattaya.
I've had much better quality Thali in Bangkok Suckhamvit.
I would not come back here unless the other Indian restaurants near by are worse quality.

Pros: near central

Cons: Frozen veg used in curries., Palsk Paneer dish had very little paneer in it.

Decent but better available in Pattaya

Choti Vala North & South Vegetarian and Jain Indian Food

I am a lover of Thali (a Thali is a combination plate of Indian food) because I often eat alone and want to have a variety of flavors. To order separate dishes would mean I could only have one or two before I am full. So Thali's or buffets are the way to go for me.

(3 mains it Thali) (mains are average to very good)

519/1-3 Pattaya 2nd Road, Pattaya Chonburi 20150 - directly across from Central Plaza on the east side of 2nd Road

website for Bangkok location > www.chotivalabangkok.com

South Thali 239 Baht (plus 7% vat) includes dal, vegi-korma, samber, rice, raita, poppadum, 2 roti, onion salad, ice cream > (mains are average to very good)

North Thali 239 Baht (plus 7% vat) includes dal, Mixed-Veg, shahi paneer or palak paneer, rice, raita, poppadum, 2 roti, onion salad, ice cream (mains are average to very good)

Other Indian Restaurants in Pattaya give bigger portions for a smaller price.

Aloo samosas 89b, Paneer Samosas 149B, roti 29b (small), main veggie dishes 149 to 289 Baht, lassi 69b, mango lassi 89b, juice 89b, shakes 89b, plain rice 59b

Some dishes made from frozen veggies

10 am to 12 am

Pros: open late, friendly service

Cons: some dishes made from frozen veggies
