The best vegan food in the city! - Edit
This is my favorite restaurant in Vancouver. I love their concept of choosing a main and then making it into whatever type of platter you want, I love the sides that you can share with friends, their homemade kefir and baklava. This restaurant was the one that showed me that vegan food could be amazing.
Read moreThe staff is super nice and welcoming, the place has such nice decorating. The menus are a bunch of old children storybooks turned menus, and the restaurant has plants everywhere, wooden tables and blackboards for the drinks. Very hipster.
Any plate is delicious, but my personal recommendations are the baba ganoush with a side of chickpea fries (ask for no sauce if you’re getting it with the ganoush), the bacon benedict, the shawarma platter and my favorite, the kasum platter; a delicious mix of cauliflower and mushrooms with a creamy onion sauce. Everything is so well spiced and delicious. If it was cheaper, I’d eat there everyday.
Go to chickpea! You won’t regret it!
Pros: All vegan , Delicious food , Nice Decor
Cons: A tad expensive

Amazing - Edit
I can'tt believe it took us so long to get here. The food was so good and our service was even better. Our server, Ethan, was attentive, helpful and honest and the best part of our evening was when he asked the random smoker on the street to move on as we were eating our food on the patio. Nothing could top that. We wk be back the next time we are in Vancouver.

There’s nothing comparable back home in Ontario and this makes me sad and extra appreciative for the shakshuka platter I had tonight. Everything was so tasty from the sausage to the hummus to the chickpea fries. I will definitely have longing wistful dreams about you!

Just what you want for lunch! - Edit
I've been to the Chickpea food truck several times as it is conveniently located to where I work.
Read moreThe food is awesome, super filling, lots of fresh leaves in all the meals. I highly recommend the pita - it's so soft! Oh, and the fries are fluffy, you have to try them.
For someone who doesn't eat honey and seaweed, this place offers a clearly "no fuss" menu.
The downside is that if you are sensitive to oil (like I am) I'd avoid the "beyond meat", hummus and the fries. Other than that, the Shawarma, Shnitzelonim, Kasum and Sabich are all amazing.
Been to the restaurant a few times now, highly recommend the Malawach and the Falafels! My gosh the puff pastry was amazing, I have been missing this texture and flavour for a while and man, I'm coming back for it next time. The falafels are one of the nicer ones I have ever had as I find them normally too dry and crumbly and tasteless - these ones though had a nice crunch, texture, flavour and colour. Nicely done!
The Latkes Benechick are a different story, the "crispy potato foundation" was not good, texture and flavour was confusing, didn't like the chickpeas in there either (think that their were 2 different types of potato things). The "eggs" were nothing like I imagined, the sauce was too thick and rich, after the first few bites it became a bit too much. Overall, I left over 50% of this meal uneaten - it was an experience though.
Had something different, the waffle benechicks - really enjoyed this one, loved the waffle! Don't need the maple syrup though, too sweet.
Ordered the chocolate tort as well, it's not in a slice like I saw in the other photos, instead, it was like a mini cheesecake. For the price, it was small but very rich (possibly dark chocolate which I love), the whipped cream that it came with was fabulous, so light, so delicious - it was better than the tort!
The Chickebab pita was delicious, loved the texture and taste, but the fried onions were the same temperature as the salad - cold, we were expecting it to be hot.
Pros: Great food, atmosphere
Cons: Too oily if you have sensitive stomach.

My new favorite Vegan in BC - Edit
I don't have a picture. Because we ate it all really fast. It was great for our whole family. The chickpea fries -- wonderful! It's a different feeling to eat chickpea fries than it is to indulge in potato fries.
Read moreWe ordered three main dishes, and each ate a third before passing the plate to the next adult in our family.
Kasum (cauliflower) - SO GOOD! I don't usually like cooked mushrooms, but these had a great flavor and texture.
Hatzil Baladi (eggplant) - so colorful! It's a delightful of contrasting flavors that work so well.
Chickebab is probably my favorite. I am tempted to get it again right away, but I try to order all of the things on the menu before I get stuck in an "order-the-same-thing-all the-time-rut." It sat on a bed of grilled onions, and it was fantastic.
We ordered a side of Falafel - it is the best falafel I've ever had. Bright green on the inside -- the color of green that looks like health.
I'm excited to go to Chickpea Restaurant again.
5 Stars for their handling of COVID-19 Regulations for safety.
Pros: Excellent Food, Friendly Staff, Great value

Great food, generous portions! - Edit
This place was recommended to me by an Israeli friend. I ordered Shawarma Platter, and Fairy Baklava as a dessert. Both were great and the portions were so huge that I was struggling to finish them! The restaurant is cosy and nicely decorated. One of the waitresses was great, the other one, unfortunately, did not seem very friendly. She showed her disappointment when I did not order any drinks, then asked me if I wanted my bill, without even giving me the chance to order a dessert. I still definitely recommend the place. Hope to try their breakfast menu one day.

Good vegan food! - Edit
This place is OK if you're looking for junkier vegan food. The hummus I tried had the processed garlic in it that you by pre minced in jars, which I wasn't a fan of. Burger was good though but verrrry heavy. I'd try it again next time I'm in Vancouver.

Not Allergen-Concious - Edit
I really wanted to love this place since I loved the concept, but was really unhappy that I was served food with sesame seeds on it TWICE when I told the server I was allergic. I ended having a bite before I realized the second time and had to run out to the car to take my allergy medicine. Luckily my allergy is not super severe, but this was a real disappointment.

Can't say enough good things, order Eggs Benechick! - Edit
I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The IPA was delicious (and they let us sample the IPAs before ordering), and the run drink was great.
Read moreI've rarely seen a vegan version of eggs Benedict, but they have it here and it's better than the 'real thing'. You MUST order it if you go here, it's out of this world.
Overall it's a really cozy restaurant with friendly staff and they have a billion dishes with falafel and hummus, so how could you possibly complain?
Finally, their tap list was pretty legit, it was pleasantly surprising. Go to this restaurant and then walk it off through Queen Elizabeth Park. It's a great way to spend the day!
Pros: Vegan eggs benedict, Good IPA, Cozy
Cons: NONE!
