The vegan cooking class is the coolest thing I have done on my trip! I had so much fun and learned a lot! Mai is amazing and I wish I could just hang out with her all the time. She has a great sense of humor, is knowledgeable and super friendly. Definitely eat here and take the cooking class. You won’t regret it!

Unique experience - Edit
Very friendly and fast service. Great choice of vegan dishes. According to my opinion a little bit too much of western style dishes. The vietnamese dishes I ordered were delicious. I enjoyed the cozy ambience. A restaurant with a lot of dedication to veganism.

Amazing Vegan Cooking Afternoon - Edit
A total must for anyone wanting a fun afternoon with a huge amount of delicious vegan food to munch on at the end. We really loved the market tour and learnt new things about eating vegan in Vietnam that have made us a little braver in future! There was a delicious drink and we had a few tastes along the way.
Read moreThe whole chickpea team were super friendly and helpful and were there with just the right amount of support in getting the dishes right.
We left completely full with a takeaway bag with a full meal for later! Some feedback for the team: need a little more space for all the delicious dishes on the table and anyone over 5’6” struggled with the low height of the workbenches - however this did not spoil any enjoyment of the day [censored]
Pros: Friendly helpful team, Amazing fresh ingredients , Learning new things

When entering chickpea eatery, you're walking into a bit of a different world. The closed garden gives you a nice atmosphere and the whole place breathes positivity.
Read moreThe food is also awesome. We had a bunch of stuff, the noodles, the chicken rice, the scrambled tofu Bahn Mi and the bao bun.
The chicken rice was my favorite, citrussy and vibrant and really hits the spot.

Modest outdoor setting with delicious fresh food. Good selection of dishes ranging from Vietnamese to western cuisine at pretty reasonable prices. We enjoyed everything we tried which by the time we left Hoi A was a good portion of the menu. The waitress was always very friendly. We would definitely recommend going to chickpea, it was our favourite place to dine in Hoi An.

Read moreThe food is the best vegan food I’ve had in Hoi An and truthfully falls in the top three of the whole country (I’ve been here for 40 days already). They serve a mix of western food and local Vietnamese cuisine. Make sure to try their Cao Lau and the Bao buns as an appetiser! Everything is made with love and with a big dose of humility. Love this place and can’t wait for everyone else to experience it too💗

So yummy!! - Edit
There are no words to describe how amazing our time at Chickpea Eatery doing the Vegan Vietnamese Cooking class was! Right from the start Mai and her wonderful sisters welcomed us with their kind, knowledgeable and passionate attitudes towards veganism and their cooking. We had an amazing time at the markets with Mai learning how to choose the best fruits, tofu and spices (plus some bonus learning about the Old Town along the way). All of this was followed by a wonderful afternoon of cooking delicious vegan food. The sisters had tailored the menu to be gluten free for us and we learnt how to make fresh spring rolls (that actually looked great and didn’t break!), how to cook tempeh right, an amazingly simple vegan chicken salad that is going to become a staple at our home, and some fried spring rolls that were so wholesome and delicious. Plus I can’t forget about the game changing sauce recipe we learnt! Thank you so much Chickpeas for the best day of our Vietnam holiday and for the work you do. We are so grateful to meet you and can’t wait to visit again!
