Food came without tofu and waitress told us we were lying - Edit
My mother and I had an absolutely terrible experience at this restaurant. We got there within 30 minutes of the restaurant closing which was, granted, our fault, however, our waitress made us feel very rushed and gave us little time to look at the menu. She was also very rude and unhelpful from the get-go, and acted like she didn’t know, and didn’t care what “vegan” actually meant (I had to clarify many times). My mom, who can’t speak French, had me order for her since she didn’t have time to decide, so I got her the pad raum mit (excuse my spelling) and I ordered the vermicelli noodle soup for myself. Both of the dishes were suppose to come with tofu. By the time our food got there, we were both starving, and started eating immediately. I’ll admit that I was also distracted because the food was really good!!😂 About halfway through the meal, I realized that my dish was missing the tofu. My mom’s dish was missing it as well. Unfortunately, she didn’t know that there was suppose to be tofu in it, as I ordered for her, so wasn’t able to catch the mistake either. I called the waitress over and explained that our dishes were missing the tofu. She asked us why we didn’t tell her earlier. I explained the situation, and she said she didn’t believe us. First she said that we probably just didn’t know what tofu looked like and had eaten it all already. When we assured her we did (I eat it almost everyday), she said that we were just complaining to get a discount. And boy, did we get mad. We had to make her check with the chef, and when she came back, she told us that he DID put the tofu in. So basically, according to her, we had eaten all the tofu already and were trying to take advantage of the business😒 of course, when you are wrongly called a liar, it pretty much ruins the rest of your lunch😂 eventually, after we told her that we would write an honest review, she got nice... she said that she believed us, however she had to listen to the chef when he said he put the tofu in. In the end, she gave us a 10% discount to the meal, however this didn’t make up for the horrible treatment in my opinion.
Read moreAnother weird aspect of this is that her argument for doing nothing to make this situation right was that the kitchen was already closed, so the chef couldn’t bring us tofu. However, later on, another group in the restaurant got their food.
I will say, the food was good, but it was not worth the general rudeness, and DEFINITELY not worth being accused of lying.
Pros: Food was good I guess?
Cons: Rude staff, Not very many vegan options
