Sharing plate - Edit
Chez Marianne had some lovely vegan options in their “Voyage” plate - where you can choose 3 plates for 1 person, or 8 plates to share between 2-3 people. I had falafel, houmous, vine leaves, aubergine and a salad as my options to share with two non-veggie friends, but they agreed that the vegan options were the best!! A restaurant in such a nice area, great people watching and unbelievably friendly staff despite a busy Friday lunch period.

Nice falafel pitas - Edit
We enjoyed their falafel pitas after a long day of traveling. The pitas were tasty, had a nice amount of tahini, yummy eggplant, sour red cabbage and crunchy falafels. A bit pricey (10e) compared to our old favourite Mi Va Mi's who just closed their doors closeby.

tasty - Edit
the build your own plate option worked well for a group of us and the waitress was very accommodating (allowed my mum and sister to have the feta on a separate plate to the rest of the, vegan, food). it was all very enjoyable and the artwork on the ceiling of the little prince was very cute. would be good if the menu labelled vegan options but it quite easy to tell what would or wouldn’t be and i’ve come to realise doing this isn’t very common in france lol

A Marais institution - Edit
I’ve been coming to Chez Marianne since 1984, when the Marais was still the Pletzl and great Jewish food was still in abundance. Over the years, one after another of the restaurants on or just off of the rue des Rosiers was drowned in the massive waves of gentrification, but Chez Marianne is still going strong. The food is excellent, though perhaps not the best of the best, and the location evocative. Read the plaque on the wall of the school next door about their Jewish students being shipped off to the death camps. It’s impossible not to be moved by the history of the neighborhood, even though bobo shops now greatly outnumber stores catering to the ever-dwindling Jewish population.

Pros: One of the last holdouts from the old days, Fantastic build-your-own plates
Cons: More expensive than it was, but what isn’t?

The best falafel!!! - Edit

Not bad but not great - Edit
You can either choose a plate, or a combination of entrees; I did that with my boyfriend, the falafels were good, but other food (like the eggplants or the peppers) were quiete heavy.
Read moreIt also gave me acids all night.
Other than that, the place is nicely furnished at the staff quick.

Not bad but not great - Edit
I like the falafel toppings (white and red cabbage, grilled aubergine...) and the portion is big, but there's very little actual falafel on the sandwich, you can only order falafels to go but not to eat in the restaurant and the service isn't great. Not bad if you feel like a falafel and at a reasonable price but that's about it.

Confusing - Edit
I was notified by a waiter that the falafels contained milk. I was confused and asked for verification. I never got the answer and had my plate with the replacement asked in case the falafels were actually not vegan.
Read moreThe food was okay but overpriced. (14€ for a 4 element plate) Service was mediocre. Would not recommend
Pros: Nice area, Inside is cosy
Cons: Overpriced, Music too loud and inconsistent, Nothing is labelled and staff isn't knowledgeable

Loved it! - Edit
Gorgeous restaurant in the Marais Paris. Specialising in traditional Jewish food.. The restaurant is in a gorgeous old building in the Jewish quarter.
Read moreWe ordered a mixed plate of five different dishes including mushrooms in tomato sauce, fried aubergines with tomatoes, aubergine caviar with tahini, aubergine caviar with garlic, houmous, freshly baked bread that was still hot with onion and falafel.
Really generous portions, delicious and filling. We are outside as was beautiful weather and not too crowded. If you go on Sunday be prepared to queue as it’s really popular.
Would thoroughly recommend going!
Also like most places in Paris it’s also dog friendly 💚
Pros: Traditional Jewish tasty food , Gorgeous restaurant , Good selection and great service
