Best restaurant in Aix! - Edit
I would give it five stars if I could; don't let the fact that it's not all-vegan deter you, because they have us covered! They'll even ask if you're vegan when they bring you the menu and recommend le veggie, which has a bunch of different veggie stews and injera (flatbread). It's all very flavorful and it won't leave you hungry! They'll bring it out in a big plate for multiple to share depending on how many people order. There's also le shiro for one, which is just chickpea stew and injera, but I haven't tried it yet. They serve the food with a knife and fork, but i recommend eating it by using the injera to grab the food as is the traditional way, and don't be afraid to ask for more injera! They also have a vegan chocolate cake for dessert

Best meal I had in two weeks in France. So flavorful and delicious. Warm kind service. Vegan dessert options too! I’d go back to Aix just to eat here. 5 stars.

Super Ama - Edit
Ama’s kind soul is reflected in her amazing éthiopien cuisine! This was the first éthiopien food I’ve had, though others are good I guess I prefer Chez Ama! Coming from the US I really miss Mexican and other “spiced/spicy” foods. When I have a craving this is my spot. The fermented gallettes offer great health benefits as well as natural fiber in the lentil/dal/chickpea portions. The music, decor, and employees are a wonderful experience. Ama has vegan desserts often to top off a wonderful plate. Ps I’m in love with the tofu!! Not to miss in Aix!

Good variety and nice place - Edit
The Chez Ama is nice Restaurant located at a calm little square in the city of Aix-en-Provence. So it is a very good place to sit outside at a warm summer evening. Specially as such places are quite rare at Aix-en-Provence. The staff was really lovely, so we had a goof time, sharing our vegan platter. The platter was very diversified und everything tasted good. 15 € is quite a lot of money for the platter, but Aix-en-provence is a mit more expensive, so for this city, the price a average.

Super tasty - excellent service - beautiful outdoor seating - Edit
The vegan platter can be ordered for 2 or 3 persons and is 15 euros for each person. A little pricey, but typical of central locations in this city. And definitely worth it because you get a lot of variety, all of which tasted superb! It´s fun to pick up the vegetables or mashed lentils with pieces of crepe-like bread in your hands but you can also use a fork, if you like. I quite liked getting a free bottle of tap water.
Read moreTheir banana cake was very moist and dense, just how I like it. The ice-cream was a little too sweet for me. Both, main meal and dessert were presented beautifully and served fast.
The owner was accomodating, relaxed, up for a little chat, and happy to introduce us to her native cuisine. It was just lovely sitting on the little square across the restaurant on a warm summer night. A clear must-go-to place when in Aix!
Pros: Variety of delicious vegan food on one plate, Excellent service, Beautiful outdoor seating
Cons: Not completely vegan/vegetarian, A little pricey

Delicious 5 stars - Edit
I tried to do 5 stars but it's coming up as 4.
Read moreAmazing food and service. Great value for money.
We wanted to do the shared plate for 2 or more people but my partner wanted to try the meat curry.
They let us do both vegan and meat. The meat curries come seperate.
The spice they give with it is so yummy. Would def go here again.
