My new favorite healthy take out! - Edit
It's hard to find healthy vegan take-out food.
Read moreI thought Chef Veganessa was a caterer, a place where you order for the week and pick your meals up. I saw on their Facebook that they offered a delicious-looking "chewy lemon cookie sandwich filled with raspberry tahini cream"...
"Wait, what? This place is not just a caterer and it's made with healthy ingredients?! I have to try it!"
We tried all their cookies (we love all of them!), brownie, cake pops, take-out meals loaded with veggies and the pizza (my personal favorite!). The variety changed every time we went, but there's an in-store menu with a few items that don't change (pizza, tex-mex burger, chili, wrap, etc.), all made with whole ingredients.
There are a few seats to sit and enjoy a meal by the window, or a coffee and a pastry.
It's a 20-30 min drive for me, but next time I want take-out, they'll be my first choice.
Pros: Whole food healthy ingredients, Cookies, The Veganessa Pizza
Cons: Cappucino wasn't the best I had

Awesome vegan and gluten-free food - Edit
This is hands down the best gluten-free vegan food that I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Everything that we have eaten so far was delicious. We ordered the Father’s Day box this year and had a real feast at home. It was plenty for us and we had left overs of everything to enjoy the day after. We are lucky to have this place on the island.

Chef Veganessa, you've won us over! - Edit
🌱✨ Our foodie journey took us to Chef Veganessa in the Montreal area, and we couldn't wait to share our experience!
We were skeptical at first – gluten-free and vegan? But wow, were we blown away!
We indulged in two incredible wraps:
Gyro Pita Wrap & Souk Wrap both with a side of quinoa salad.
Choosing a favorite was impossible – both wraps were bursting with flavor and freshness!
We couldn't resist dessert. The soft serve vanilla ice cream with chocolate and sprinkle toppings was delightful, but the highlight was the carrot cake we took to go. Hands down, one of the best carrot cakes we've ever had!
Pros: Unique and incredible flavors , Quick and great service , Dessert - Carrot Cake

All gluten free too! - Edit
Love that everything is gluten free as well, makes it much easier. You can eat there if you want to, they have a few tables. Very cute shop. They have only a few options which makes it easy to choose since I always want to order 1 of everything..

Everything is fresh and tastes good. Overall the food is good but it's not a place I'm dying to go back, something is missing that I can't put my finger on. The prices are high as well. I get it for the pre-made meals since it's convenience but I wish the dine-in options were a bit better priced.

Best gyro! - Edit
Some of the best vegan tzatziki I’ve ever had, the gyro was amazing! Also got to try the Nanaimo bar, which was a knockout. Really friendly staff! Excited to try their food again. #Veganuary

Homemade vegan meals - Edit
Warm and friendly family business that makes creative and delicious vegan meals to-go. Large portions, easy to freeze, reheat etc… Perfect solution when you don’t want to cook! Ordered eggplant moussaka, lemon pasta and a hearty soup. Will definitely order again!

delicious - Edit
Had lasagna and a chipwich. Both were excellent. My expectations were not very high given the limited presentation ability of this mostly-to-go spot, but seriously the food was delicious.

really good! - Edit
Chef Veganessa is like a lot of vegan start ups and that's a good thing. Motivated by Celiac, Chef Vanessa began her culinary journey to healing herself, others and the planet. The cleaner her diet, the better she feels. Likely true of you too.
The cafe is spartan. Clean without guile or excess: this is a startup working a good business plan: follow your bliss, feed people light, Ka-ching.
We had Lemon Pepper Tempeh Pasta, Kale, Beets, many Date Balls and Ginger Tea. Oh and we bought Coconut Bliss Creme (they had chocolate peanut butter too) and a couple more of those date things with the chocolate action going on: all vegan, allergen and gluten free.
And it was goood. Sure you always want more tempeh but the Tinkyada brown rice pasta is dense without being heavy. There's some veg (more please) and a light sauce, neither spicy nor tart.
The kale salad was standard raw vegan with a sweet dressing, fresh and flavorful. There were berries (dried cranberry maybe and date?), chewy not tough.
Her cooked beets too were remarkable for their simplicity and made a colorful accent among the greens and browns.
The business is the partnership of Chef Vanessa and her husband, Alex, who we met. It began as a meal delivery service though the grab and go cafe is a growing if not majority segment. Hip and healthy, conscious consumers can order an entire week's food at a time or drop in and buy tonight's dinner and tomorrow's lunch. And, the last ice cream sandwich (grrr, had my eye on that) as the guy who came in while we were eating did.
Overall, we and our not veg friends enjoyed it all. And then we got two more of the ample date balls, some Daiya cheddar and the Coconut Bliss ice creme, to go.
Dinner for four was under 50 dollars. Groceries an extra 25. Good value and good karma.
Pros: Friendly service, Reasonable price, portions, South of Montreal nearer NY
Cons: The sold toiletry items are not vegan., Only 8 seats, More variety

Delicious food, large portions! - Edit
Stumbled upon this great place while driving into Montreal from Ontario by using the Happy Cow app. It's in a small suburban strip mall and certainly doesn't look fancy, but the delicious food, large portions, and friendly service more than make up for that. Although the description says take-out there are actually a couple of tables both inside and outside, and the staff will gladly heat your cooked food for you. In addition to the main dishes there are also salads, sweets, and drinks. All vegan.
