Tasty treats in a desert oasis! - Edit
Their BLTA was really yummy - especially the bread! I liked that they had a little vegan store in addition to the restaurant😄Things were a bit more pricey than I’m used to, but might be consistent with CA (I’m an outsider). I loved that there were so many options! Though, most have onions and garlic (two things I need to avoid). Friendly staff who were eager to help me pick something, and also gave advice on what to do in the area.

Delicious take away and fun store. - Edit
This cute little place is tucked away in an industrial district of Palm Springs. What I adore about it is the variety of sandwiches. There’s a lot more to be had here like bowls, side dishes, desserts but the sandwiches are top-notch. It can be really crowded and very difficult to social distance. But everyone does their best to wait outside. I noticed six months ago when I visited the area none of the staff were wearing masks. Now it is an ordinance for the city of Palm Springs and I think that’s important. It’s one of the best ways to reduce spread of this terrible pandemic. She has a lot of interesting items for purchase whether it’s drinks, cheeses, side dishes, etc. My go to is always the Pastrami Miami and my son’s is the Bahn mi. Parking is very limited. But you usually can find a parking space, no problem. Totally vegan.

We tried as much stuff as possible on our visit and we were never disappointed. The caprese tempeh burger was my favorite. The Cubano was my second favorite. Also, the tofu egg salad was great. I’m going to try and remake it at home. Thank you chef Tanya!

lived up to all the great reviews. wish there were more pre-packaged to-go options, especially meals that don’t need to be warmed up, but everything i ordered was delicious.

Best Vegan Spot ANYWHERE - Edit
I love Chef Tanya’s!!!! I regularly eat at both the Palm Springs & Palm Desert locations. They are equally as delicious. The Banh Mi & You is my absolute favorite menu item. Super delicious! Also live the eggy salad & their Agua Frescas are SO bomb! They sell tamales in the freezer section as well as many vegan cheeses, fresh baked cookies, sauces, chips, sodas & other drinks. Friendly staff and great service too. Next time I will try their gelato!

AMAZING!!! - Edit
We went here just before heading back home to grab a bite to eat and I’m soooooo glad we did! It’s probably one of the best vegan places I’ve been to since going vegan over 4 years ago! Please open one of these in Costa Mesa…it would do amazing! Don’t even think twice about eating here…you will only regret not eating here! They have a cute shop with many items that are great for gifts too! We got a few candles, a sweatshirt, frozen tamales, and so much more! Can’t wait to come back to Palm Springs just to eat here❤️

As Mooch the cat would sya, Yesh! Chef Tanya is amazing. She was the brains behind Native Foods, and this is even better. But note that this is TAKE-OUT only. The perfect place to go when your Palm Springs hotel has no decent food ooptions. Grab the food and take it back to your hotel. Chef Tanya is also FANTASTIC at catering.

First time - Edit
We were in the desert for just one night. Knowing how inconsistent food can be in the greater Palm Springs area, we were excited to try something new to us. We split the El Cubano sandwich and got some of the Smoked Chicken Pasta Salad. While the sandwich is only very loosely based on a traditional Cuban sandwich, it tasted great and was actually plenty of food for two bigger guys. My husband (omnivore) kept remarking about how much he enjoyed everything. All that, and the store is very charming; it offers prepared foods, a variety of their proprietary protein options, and specialty beverages. We will definitely be back.

Amazing Flavors - Edit
There is much to love about this location. I tried the banh mi and the El Cubano sandwich. Both were flavorful and the right portion. However, I wouldn’t say that these sandwiches are authentic. I would say that they are inspired by such sandwiches. I would come here again.

If you miss NF then you need CTK! - Edit
Only Chef Tanya could put together ingredients I don't normally like and turn them into something I like! Been missing that Tanya touch on food so I finally made my way to try the "new" Kitchen. Didn't realize it isn't a restaurant proper but it was still popping. So crowded! A few tables if you want to eat there but all taken. Think of this place more like discovering the world's best pit stop for vegans. It was like a small convenience store with beverages and pre-made food ready to go, as well as other non-food items to sell. (Split across two physical spaces much how like Westwood NF was at one point.) Then, there's a menu you can order from. Since this was truly a pit stop for me and the heat was already sweltering, I decided to grab something pre-made and not wait around. There was only one sandwich left and it was a mystery sandwich of the day. It had pickled veggies, black olives, and I think seitan slices. If I had read the description on the menu, it would have been the last thing I tried. It made my mouth sing! It was tasty and refreshing. It made me wish I was spending a couple days in Palm Springs so I could come back and try more foods. One fellow customer was a little too aggressive and tried to walk off with my items when I was being rung up but for now I'm going to consider that the one weird customer you run into now and then.

Nutritious & Delicious - Edit
My husband and I went here 4 days out of 6 while in Palm Springs on vacation. The El Cubano sandwich was our favorite and the potato salad was incredible. Definitely recommend if you are in the area, so many options all homemade. The Agua Fresca is delicious, all flavors. Also tons of other vegan/thoughtfully sourced items. If you go during lunch hour call your order in to save time they’re popular! But make sure to give yourself time in the shop because there is SO much great stuff to look at! Staff is super kind and helpful. Can’t wait to come back and visit again!

Best Mac Around! - Edit
Veg News put out a list with the best vegan restaurant in each state, based on Yelp reviews. We were excited to find that California's best ranked restaurant is located in Palm Springs where we were traveling. We tried it for a lunch and it was legit. My husband and I both agreed her mac & cheese and potato salad are the best we've ever had... and I make a darn good potato salad but hers is out of this world! I'm also a bit of a mac & cheese snob so it's hard to find one I'll even eat. Before I knew it, I had gobbled the entire container of Tanya's mac. Seriously, vegan or not, if ever in Palm Springs, try her food - you will not be disappointed!

I could have ordered so many of the items! I had the special tacos that came with Pozoli. My taco was a little spicy, not too much. My boyfriend had the equivalent of the BLTA, I think it’s called. I tasted the tofu on it and it was spiced so perfectly. The lemon cake was one of the best vegan cakes I’ve had. It was way out of the way for us, and way worth it. Would go again.

Can I get an AMEN! - Edit
We need one of Chef Tanya’s Cafe in every town and city in America. Although we likely found it by being tracked by Google search we are grateful for internet surveillance (lol!) because WOW! The food here is exclusively Vegan and all homemade. The selection is outrageous, the food is divine and the staff is welcoming, informed and helpful. Try the “pastrami” and the tempeh “burger” and chili and the chocolate cake and even the hot Chai and and and I could go on and on and on.
