Best option in Granville - Edit
I ordered what everyone says are their best dishes: Golden Temple Soup and the Rickety Rickshaw. Portion sizes were good. We chose to add tempeh to the Rickety and the tempeh was amazing!
Read moreIt’s far from the best, but it’s certainly the best and only option for tourists visiting Granville.

Read moreI love this place! So fresh, healthy, and large portions ! The best two items on the menu are the rickshaw bowl and the golden temple soup. The only thing I didn’t like was the ice cream - too heavy and too coconutty. Lots of delicious tea options too!

Unique dinning experience - Edit
You can order through an app from your table and they bring you the food. You get your own cutlery and water. Food was excellent. Service was fast and friendly. First time having Vietnamese and will definitely go back again. Restaurant was completely but have many gluten free options as well which were all clearly marked.

When Vegan Thai isn’t a thing, go Vegan Vietnamese 💜 - Edit
Relocated from Los Angeles where there is a LA Vegan Thai phenomenon and it’s my favorite. Really missed the vegan Thai thing in Vancouver, but Chau is really the next best thing! Fresh rolls with options, coconut based soups, papaya salad and fermented bean curds - Chau is my favorite place to heal the food longing and it really stands on its own. Not too expensive, all-vegan, gf/garlic free/onion free options. Full of life!

Fresh, flavourful and healthy - Edit
One of our favourite vegan haunts. Nice airy decor, fast friendly service. The coconut curry soup (I think called Golden Temple??) is so good. Get it with extra vegetables. Don't miss the chocolate peanut butter bar for dessert.

Not bad but not great…there are better options - Edit
We grabbed a few take way items from here. Some taro chips and dip, nonla rolls, the Rickety Rick Shaw bowl (#10) and the Golden temple soup (#17).
Read moreFirst off as we’re heading back I found a hair/eyelash in the #10, not impressed.
The nonla rolls were okay, chewy and the sauce was literally water with a hint of lemon. Ending up dumping the sauce.
The soup was just alright, didn’t blow me away. The flavour was kind of basic, lacked some salt and spice and could be made at home. The portion was big which was nice but the huge chunks of veg could’ve been cut a bit better.
The best thing was the taro chips and dip. They were really great 👍🏻 dip was lemony and spicy.
Considering there a lot of vegan viet places in van close by to this one, there are better options to choose from.

Disappointing - Edit
We ordered the Bai Sao Beach Chips to share. I also had the Rickety Rickshaw bowl.
Read moreThe beach chips were really good, light and not greasy.
The bowl has an eyelash in it to start. The portion was a fair size, the spring rolls were tasty, noodles were light and the vegetables fresh. The vegan fish sauce was somewhat tasteless, I put my own soy sauce on the bowl.
Pros: All plant based , Good size portions
Cons: “Fish” sauce minimal taste

By far one of my favourite vegan restaurants!! I've been a few times - most recently for my birthday in March - and it never disappoints. My entire non-veg family loves it as well :)

Consistently delicious - Edit
One of our favourite Vancouver mainstays when we visit. Been coming in for over a decade and the food quality and flavour is still just as good as when they opened (which has sadly not been the case with other restaurants as they expand)

But it seems like it’s one of those vegan places where the food is rather not flavored at all
Nice presentation and looks like good ingredients but tasteless both times
Only thing I enjoyed were summer rolls

Look beyond the name - Edit
When my friend first suggested coming here, I was picturing a cramped, dimly-lit walk up for greasy fare. Imagine my surprise when we came up to a bright, clean, modern restaurant complete with living wall plants, a covered patio and great service. We had already had lunch so we snacked on their chocolate peanut bars and their Thai milk ice cream. Delicious! Definitely want to come back and try their bowls and rolls.

Delicious food! - Edit
The food is just unbelievably good here! So great that it's all vegan and gluten free (or adaptable) as many in my family are veg or vegan and some celiac. This is my new fav restaurant (tied with a few others!). I loved the Golden Temple soup and the nonla crispy rolls and the taro beach chips (they come with a tofu dip that is amazing!) It will be hard not to order the same yummy items next time!
