I’ve avoided going here for a few years and after finally trying it, I feel justified in staying away. I ordered the pickled jackfruit sandwich on sourdough (the vegan bread option)with an order of fries. The jackfruit was salty but had no other flavor, both bbq sauces were just gross (heavy, smoky, spicy, but otherwise almost devoid of flavor) and the fries were seasoned and overly salty.

There's an entire vegan section on the menu but unfortunately several of the items contain cheese or an egg bun and are not actually vegan. Ask about the ingredients to be sure. There three variations of a jackfruit sandwich on the menu, and you can substitute sourdough and/or hold the cheese. They did get my order wrong the first time but the sandwich was tasty. Their BBQ sauce and fries are top notch.

The Jackknife is legit. Might be a little spicy for some people, but I love that. my partner and I always split it, some fries, and the sunflower salad, which, while simple, might be my favorite salad in KC. The combo of the 3 is a great balance.

First bbq experience since I stopped eating meat over 3 years ago. Oh my goodness, the jackfruit sandwich was phenomenal! Got the quinoa salad as a side & that was equally as delicious. Only stopping through but wish I had something like this close to home.

Read moreI really love the "Roots & Fruits" but that is definitely not enough to fill me up. I will try the Jackfruit if I go again. Really it's a place I only go with a group of BBQ fans. It's usually a long wait and pretty loud. THey do have a nice outdoor area.

My meat eating brother wanted to come here to eat, our mother and myself are vegetarian and i didnt think we could eat here. We came during brunch and both had the fried green tomato bennie. Very good and we were both really happy they had something we could eat.

I went here with a bunch of omnivore friends who wanted BBQ. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a separate vegan menu! I ordered the smoked jackfruit sandwich on farmbread and added pickled jalapenos and avocado. Really good stuff!
