Serves meat, vegan options available. Chabuton Ramen operates outlets across Japan. Two of the items are vegan: choose 新野菜系らあ面 for vegetable ramen and ベジ餃子 for vegetable gyoza. You have to buy tickets from a vending machine, then show it to the waiter. Removed Oct 2021 - limited vegan options.

Cheap tasty vegan ramen and gyoza 😋 - Edit
I love that we can get extra noodle for free! I really like their veggie gyoza! Pretty tasty. And the guy who works there is always really nice 😌🙏

Quicky, tasty ramen - Edit
It’s very light but full of veggies. I actually really like the gyoza here too, it’s my go-to to tide me over between meals.

Vegan gyoza - Edit
The vegan gyoza tasted okay although it was nothing fancy, portion was good enough to keep you going for a little while though. Unfortunately, the vegan ramen was no longer available when it came to placing my order - around 2 - 3pm, so I guess after lunchtime - which was disappointing.

Great for a quick bite! - Edit
Small ramen shop offering vegan ramen and gyoza. Not the most flavorful ramen but it has a lot of veggies and is a good portion.

Vegan, clearly marked - Edit
Both vegan options are good!
Read moreThe ticket machine has photos, and the veg ramen is labeled in green. No more green noodles, but more colorful toppings than there used to be. There is one ticket for two kinds of gyoza, you need to verbally specify "veggie".
Pros: Tasty, Meatless gyoza!, Inexpensive
Cons: Limited non-meat options, Doesn't rock my world, but satisfying

Surprisingly good and cheap! - Edit
Chabuton has only one vegan ramen on the menu, but it's very cheap (790 yen). The vegan vegetable gyoza are also good and quite inexpensive (around 350 for six pieces). Very conveniently located near the station. If possible grab a seat near the entrance - there is a weird smell of "cooked bones" in the shop, a smell you would encounter in a ramen shop.

Ok vegan ramen - Edit
I’ve been here twice for lunch. It’s cheap (800 yen for a bowl with vegan ramen) and fast. The ramen is ok and it’s fun to experience a more traditional in and out ramen joint with vending machine.
Read moreThe green vegetarian (vegan) gyozas are fun, but nothing special. I recommend take a seat close to the entrance since it smells a bit weird farther in.
Pros: Convenient , Clearly marked vegan options
Cons: Feels a bit dirty, Only one dish, Not very flavourful

Convenient - Edit
Right outside Shimo-Kitazawa station, this was my first experience with the vending machine/ticket ordering system, but it was easy enough to understand. We even helped a young man who spoke neither Japanese nor English.
Read moreMy friend tried the green/veg gyoza, which were amazing. I had the vegetable ramen. I am slightly suspicious about the broth, as it had that rich, greasy mouth feel of chicken stock. Mine also had a lot less vegetables than either the posted pictures or the menu one. It was enjoyable, but I wish I had enough language skills to have asked about the broth. Our cook was a very shy young man who did not speak the entire time, to us or any other customers, except to mumble “arigatou gozaimasu” as we left.
Pros: Good taste, Convenient
Cons: Unsure about broth, Run down

Good Ramen - Edit
This is a good option when you want a good valued ramen. It's nothing in comparison to T's Tan Tan of course. It tastes like pasta in a ramen soup more than anything but still okay. There's a strong pepper taste with tomato which is probably why it tastes like pasta more so than ramen.
Read moreThere was only one person behind the bar and he was a friendly man. He spoke mainly Japanese. He was actually confused why he kept getting foreign customers. My Japanese friend explained the Happy Cow app and he now understands why. It's a chain restaurant so hopefully word circulates to get more vegan options.
Pros: Friendly atmosphere, Good value, Friendly staff
Cons: Limited options

Delicious - Edit
Not that many veggie options, but the options they have are delicious. Had the vegetable ramen, super good. Nice and cosy atmosphere, definitely recommend.
