Serves meat, vegan options available. Chabuton Ramen operates outlets across Japan - this one is on the 8th floor restaurant area in Yodobashi Camera building in front of JR. Osaka station. Two of the items are vegan: choose ベジ野菜ラーメン、for vegetable ramen and ベジ餃子 for vegetable gyoza. You have to buy tickets from a vending machine, then show it to the waiter. Reopened Dec 2019 after renovations. Removed Oct 2021 - limited vegan options.

Vegan Ramen and gyoza are available - Edit
Ramen shop "CHABUTON" is located at 8th floor of Links Umeda.
Read moreMostly they provide ramen with pork soup but we can have thin noodles kneaded with spirulina together with soy sauce-based vegetable soup stock. It is a ramen that is easy to eat because it is full of seasonal vegetables and mushrooms and is accompanied by grated radish. There is also veggie dumplings (5 pieces).

The ramen taste a little different every time I came here - once with yuzu, one time more spices.., always a surprise and always delicious! Don’t miss the gyoza! Sooooo nice and cheap!

Tasty Gyoza and Ramen - Edit
It's quite difficult to get vegan Gyoza in Japan, so I'm really happy we have chabuton here in Osaka. There's not many options to choose from, but it's very tasty and I like the atmosphere. If you are looking for a quick snack close to Osaka station, I can recommend this place!

Average ramen - Edit
Reasonable priced. Gyoza were better then the ramen. Too much rocket and there was also diced avocado in it which didn’t really work in my opinion. Nice they they have a vegan option but could do with improving.

Pretty good - Edit
This was a pretty nice place to eat some vegetable ramen if that’s what you’re in the mood for. Not the best vegetarian ramen I’ve had in Japan, but still very tasty, pretty accessible and close to the station, and not too expensive. The ordering system was easy to use, the vegetable ramen is clearly marked. The staff were nice and friendly. There was no wait and our food arrived quickly. The gyoza were also very tasty, vegetarian gyoza aren’t super common so I was happy to find them. Over all a good experience and a tasty meal.

Worth the hunt to find - Edit
Really happy with the quality of the two vegan options and how quickly it arrived- bonus they had drinks too - I have taken a picture of the building that is on the corner opposite the train station - it’s a massive retail shopping building and the 8th floor is where the place is and the whole floor is like a food hall with lots of other eating places - towards the back end

Delicious if you can find it. - Edit
We found our directions turned us around a bit. There is no "camera building" (not named as such) but is IS the building on the corner, on the 8th floor. Take the lift. English was an option on the machine, and the veg gyoza and vegan ramen were lovely and filling. At first I thought the vegan broth was too light, but it really grew on me. Super large highballs- beware!!!

One of the best vegan ramens that I have ever tried in Japan or elsewhere - Edit
Excellent combination of vegetables from avocado to tomatoes, lotus and greens. The broth was super tasty. The gyozas are nothing out of the world but taking into consideration that it’s not easy to find vegan ones in Japan, this is also a good plus.

Reopened December 2019! - Edit
12/14/19 Update: Finally reopened in a new location in the same building, still on the 8th floor. The easiest way to get there is to enter the new Umeda Links building at the entrance with the Family Mart, take the escalators all the way up to the 8th floor, take the hallway across from the Starbucks (follow signs for dining), and turn right when you reach the open restaurants. The ramen is tasty, but the veg gyoza are my favorite.

Pros: Good veg ramen and even better veg gyoza, Order from a vending machine
Cons: Busy building w/ confused customers after remodel, Wait to eat ramen & gyoza or you burn your mouth!

Good Ramen - Edit
Close to Osaka station which is handy. Good place to visit if you're with non-vegans. The ramen was great. You'll order from a vending machine type set up. When we were there the English menu was on top of the machine but if not ask a server.

Handy location, good service - Edit
I feel stingy giving it 3* but there really only seems to be one main option and one side - though vegan gyoza of any description is a bit of a find. Fairly pricey presumably due to location. Beer expensive, nice but small. Perfectly good and very handy location. Honestly no complaints just not very interesting. Relatively easy to find, I added a photo of the outside.
Read moreEdit: Reliable opening hours and location really are a plus if you are in a pinch. Also, if you were for any reason stopping over at Shin Osaka station on the Shinkansen, you could probably dash over here (about 2 stops on the tube) get fed and get back in 1.5-2hrs Might be a worthwhile diversion if you are struggling.

Good meal and enjoyed the gyoza. Even though there is only one button for gyoza they will ask when they take the ticket which ones you want and you can just point to the green vege ones.

Greatest vegetarian Ramen and gyōza!!! - Edit
There is one vegetarian (vegan?) ramen on the menu, as well as green gyōza! The bowl is full of vegetables, herbs and tasty flavours. The free noodle refill tops the whole experience. The price is very good too. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy.

Good food! - Edit
Easy to find on the 8th floor of the shopping center. I had both the dumplings and ramen. I loved the dumplings, really yummy! The ramen was nice but didn't have that much flavour (even if you add to it using the sauces) and the choice of vegetables in it wasnt to my taste (a bit salady). But overall its easy to order and a good price so a good option for veggies and vegans
