I really enjoyed eating here as I thought it might be all the rage with a line out front, it took me just over 15 minutes to get inside but from there everything was a bit of a slog, from having my order taken, to getting my food and payment, the wait staff seemed busy but at the same time had a very slow demeanour about them. I also had to share a table which isn’t a con for me but I know it is for some. Entirely made up for by the food though which was incredible and well priced.

Highly satisfying Thai food - Edit
I enjoyed my lunch here and was very happy about all those tasty dishes. They clearly understand veganism and also allergies f.e. peanuts in my case. We had Pad Thai, Pang curry and Papaya salad alongside mango and passion fruit smoothies. Everything was just perfect.

We were looking forward to our meal here after reading the raving reviews, but I must say that we were a bit disappointed. My husband had the fried cabbage and the fried tofu, and both just tasted of garlic. While we are used to that in Thailand, this time it really was a lot. I had the Tom Yum and it was so, so oily, I could hardly eat it. So all three dishes were missing some balance in our opinion.

We just had a really good dinner here. The portion sizes are great as are the prices. It is clearly marked on the menu which items could be prepared without egg. Also, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about vegan options. We will definitely come back here.

Nice spot with many vegetarian options! Smoothies and teas are lovely as well. We came twice and had the green curry, red curry, papaya salad, woon sen salad, tom kha, tom yum, and spring rolls. Liked it all but dishes were very mushroom heavy. About half of the veggies in the curries and soups were mushrooms. A few varieties of them and cooked well, but heads up if you're not a big fan of fungus!

Chada Vegetarian Restaurant is a fantastic option for both dining in and takeout. They are known for their generous portions and excellent value for money. If you visit, I highly recommend trying their fresh papaya salad, pho and green curry.

They close early in the evening so be sure to check opening hours.

Me and my partner got the red curry and Panang curry, and shared one rice. The rice portion was small but the Currys (which were called soups in the menu) were big so it balanced out nicely. Came with soooo many vegetables which was lovely.

I got some fried rice and the mixed red curry with the lemon soda. 4 star meal here. Lots of flavours, textures and man the colours. It was so dope. So sick. Really relaxed environment. No rushing. No stress. Just chill. Deffo with me back. In what form? Well who knows. Would deffo come back to haunt this place if it meant, the staff left out offerings to said ghost.

Edited March 1, 2023. Back in Chiang Mai, and want to add that the food is consistently very good. We've eaten there many times and will be back multiple times every time we visit this city.
Read moreWe've been in Thailand for a month, and spent a week in Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai has many great vegan places to choose from, but we kept coming back to Cha-Da for the great food, large portions, reasonable prices, and very friendly service.
We particularly liked the fruit plate, or fruit with muesli for breakfast, and the curries for dinner, but everything we tried was delicious. They also offer takeaway, and package the food very nicely.

I had one of the best Pad Thai here, and the fried rolls were also really good! Portions are decent and food presentation is curated. Everything can be chosen without egg, therefore vegan. One note: it would be nice if the "without egg" option of each dish was slightly cheaper since it's from the menu.
