Not entirely bad

Cava is a chain that offers assembly line service: you choose a base, a protein, and spreads/dip to make a pita or a bowl. The service is quick, there are places to sit, and the food is relatively healthy for a fast food place. As far as I can tell, the main vegan protein is falafel, which is frankly not as good as you would find in a real falafel place (they also offer "lamb meatballs,"--yech!). In another area, Cava might be a real standout. In NYC--especially in this area--I feel it is dwarfed by the competition, such as Dig Inn which is down the block (though not yet listed on Happy Cow).

Pros: Food tastes okay, quick service, vegan options, Places to sit, relatively healthy

Cons: There are better places nearby

Easy and Convenient

CAVA was my go to lunch place while working in the Union Square / Flatiron area. They have an extremely detailed menu handout that lists everything that's vegan, as well as other dietary/allergy information. Your bowl is custom to what you want, but I was always so happy with whatever combinations I created - so tasty and fresh! There are only a few locations in NY and they are quite popular, so the lines are usually quite long during lunch time. However, I would always order mine ahead of time on their app so I wouldn't have to wait - and receive points! The bowls are quite large so I would often split it into two meals. Love CAVA!

Pros: Clearly labeled vegan options on menu, Delicious, Bang for buck

Cons: Long lines, Serves meat and dairy
