The Tempe tacos were yummy and the rice & beans on the menu are vegan.

Went for lunch with some friends. Everyone liked their meal.

Visited this location again and although the Tempe tacos are no longer on the menu, they made them for me! The waiter was very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend!

Yummy

Not many options, but I had the green burrito without cheese. It was incredible. I was worried it was going to be too salty for my palate, but it was perfectly balanced. My husband, who is not VEGAN, loved his dish as well.

Cons: Wish the had the Tempeh option

Mayan delights

I only had the Guac and Mayan Soup (without the cheese) because I was not very hungry. Both did not disappoint. Everything was clean, authentic, and fresh. We had the best time. Our server, Enrique, was fantastic. I look forward to coming back and having a full course and entree ☺️

Very Tasty!

I had the Green Burrito with Veggies, spinach tortilla, rich, blk.beans, red sauce, and Tahini. I asked for their house hot sauce 🔥. So good,I might return tomorrow. The staff was very friendly.

Good but not great

It’s a very pricy restaurant so be ready for dish out some cash. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Very good atmosphere. Make sure to ask for things to be made on a separate area! As for vegan options… they have a few. You’ll definitely find something on the menu!

Really sweet experience for the holidays!

Casa Maya has some different menu items- I wasn’t expecting the tempeh dish on their vegetarian menu, it absorbed so much delicious flavor. They also have a quesadilla (vegetarian) and green burrito (vegan without the cheese)- burrito was fabulous as well. I encourage you to also not only get chips/guac/salsa, but also consider their veg option for soup (without cheese) as the broth is mouthwatering and shareable for 2 people. Overall a great choice, indoor and outdoor seating.

Pros: Quality veg options

Quick

If you want to eat downtown and don’t want to wait an hour for a table, go to Casa Maya. Their hibiscus margarita is AMAZING. The black bean soup was good but I really want to try the cauliflower tacos or the green burrito!

Pros: Quick service, Live music, Fun atmosphere

No More Temeph

First thing to note, is that my waitress indicated the tempeh is no longer available. I ordered a Green Burrito ($16.95) and side of guac ($2.50) in May 2022. The burrito was delicious: rice and black beans, spinach, squash, advocados chunks in a green wrap, with a savory oil-based red sauce. I did have to order my meal twice to receive the dairy free version. Apparently the waitress, who was very friendly and helpful, input the order correctly, but the kitchen staff apparently added cheese anyhow. The waitress apologetically put in another burrito and the second burrito came out exactly as ordered.

The environment is excellent with plenty of seating options indoors and outside. I sat upstairs, outside. It's a great perch for people watching. Parking can be challenging on busy weekend days. I visited on a Sunday before Memorial Day and had to spend significant time to find parking. Families will be glad to know it's steps away from the Pirate Haus Inn, an affordable downtown family-friendly stay.

Pros: Delicious burrito, Friendly service, Nice environment

Cons: Limited parking, Limited vegan options, Occasional food prep errors

Delicious food with a great vibe

We are WFPB and were able to find delicious dinners for us to enjoy here. As a bonus the vibe is outstanding, great music and dancing. A real Mexican cantina in St. Augustine with excellent service.

Go for the cocktails

The vegan choices are VERY limited and a little pricey for the fare. They do, however, make a nice Margarita

Pros: Well mixed cocktails, Nice aesthetic, Friendly staff

Cons: Lack of vegan protein, Pricey for non-seafood dishes

Really good

Nice restaurant with outdoor sitting, quite busy. They have 2 clearly marked main vegetarian options. The burrito and the Tempeh with veggies. I went for the Tempeh which was delicious. They have other many other vegan sides such as plantian, chips and guacamole, black bean soup etc. Really enjoyable after so many mediocre meals on the trip.

YUMMY burritos😄

I got the green burrito and added tempeh. It was very delicious and had so much flavor!!! They had a few other vegan options which was very nice, variety to choose from. Also good place to go with non vegans because they have non vegan options as well. Good outdoor atmosphere which is nice to enjoy your food at! :)

Pros: Variety of options , Good atmosphere , Lots of flavor

Cons: Serves meat

Good Options

Tempeh tacos are a great choice when combined with the black bean soup. Veggie wrap is good and flavorful but not my favorite. Service can be spotty if busy and atmosphere is best on the back patio or the few tables on the balcony (to people watch) but are not air-conditioned.

Vegan options at Casa Maya

I’m a hostess at casa maya and have looked into the dinner/lunch menu and all the vegan options your server can accommodate: salsa & chips, quacamole, Mayan soup without cheese, black bean soup, salads without meat or cheese ask for vinegar based dressing or house goddess dressing, fiesta taco bowl with tempeh no cheese or sour cream, green burrito rice & beans with no cheese and substitute dressing, Na-kaab tempeh & my favorite tempeh fajitas no meat sour cream or cheese comes with black beans and rice for the perfect fajitas! If you come to casa maya and have special dietary restrictions your server will assist you, including gluten free & no oil! PS The sweet potato pancakes are a must breakfast item for vegetarians.

Tasty little place. There are only a handful of vegan friendly options but they are good. I got the green burrito (minus the cheese) and black beans. The burrito was a lot bigger than I expected.

great vegan options, food was fantastic

We went for lunch on a Saturday. We tried the tempeh tacos, the green burrito (minus the cheese), the black bean and rice soup, and the chips, guac, and salsa. It was fantastic. The service was good, no wait, plenty of space. They had 5-6 entrees that were either vegan or could be made vegan pretty easily. The omnivores in our group were also very happy with their options.
