Japanese-Mexican fusion - Edit
Americanized Japanese-Mexican restaurant. I had the fried chicken (I know, should have ordered the tacos) made with shiitake mushrooms, absolutely delicious. Decor is nice, with hanging plants. Service was excellent.

Mind blown - Edit
Wow this place is amazing. We got the tacos combo (one each of four types) and the quesadilla combo (one each of three types) and each was more amazing than the one before.
Read moreLocation is in Time Out, a very upscale food hall in Centre Eaton. Quality of the food is way above what you’d expect at a typical food court. Atmosphere is also upscale. It is counter service though not a table service place.
Prices were very reasonable, and I’d say inexpensive relative to the quality of the food.
One drawback is that the food hall only serves alcohol in a dedicated bar area. You can bring your food in to that area but can’t bring alcohol out. When we visited the bar area was very crowded so we did not bring our food in; a good beer would have gone well with our tacos.
If you are in Montreal anywhere near this place you are crazy if you don’t go here.
Pros: Imaginative menu, Extremely high quality , Friendly staff
Cons: Difficulty of getting beer or wine with your food

In the mood for plant based tacos full of FLAVOUR?!? - Edit
Yes I’m Canadian and I spelled flavour properly😜! There is only one worthy acronym to describe these tacos OMFG!!! Incredible. Located on the top floor of the Eaton’s center mall in the TimeOut Market this did not disappoint. I started with the “ Taco Keizen Combo” with an IPA I bought at the “Bar à Bières” and I was blown away. I went back for more. The next three tacos I got were with a fruity salsa and a “ bacun” INCROYABLE!!
Read moreYou gotta come here. The concept to is great at the TimeOut market. There are other offerings from restaurants that have plant based fare but Casa Keizan is purely Vegan.
I’ll be back.
Pros: All vegan, Great fusion of flavours , Great staff who take pride in presentation
Cons: You gotta go into a mall to find the place

This is one of my FAV places - Edit
While there is a lot of construction outside right now, this place is amazing. The staff are super friendly, the tacos delish!, the cocktails are worth every Penny.

Not so great - Edit
There's definitely a lot of time and effort that come into every menu item at Casa Kaizen but it somehow misses the mark.
Read moreSauces are unnecessarily sweet, mock-meats taste store-bought and the fresh ingredients are pretty basic.
Mexican cuisine already has a lot of vegan items so i'd go to an authentic taco shop over this one any day.
Pros: Points for effort
Cons: Too sweet, Basic ingredients, Expensive

Almost great - Edit
Atmosphere is beautiful. Cocktails are fun. The food isn’t quite as on-point as Sushi Momo. The flavours aren’t as cohesive. The red mole taco was inedible to me, sadly. Loved the tartare.

Super tasty tacos and appetizers. We got the meal for two, which was a pretty good value and a good way to try different dishes. Everything was great, especially the tacos!

Amazing Mexican-Asian fusion!! - Edit
Amazing dining experience. I've wanted to try this place since it opened 1 year ago. I highly recommend the Choriqueso tacos, Al Pastor tacos, Yuba tacos, and nuggets with sweet potato fries, which is what I ordered - although everything else on the menu looked amazing too. The decor was also very nice and the staff was very friendly. 10/10 would recommend! I'll definitely be back.

Disappointing - Edit
Probably the worst vegan restaurant I tried so far. You eat small portions of veggies, it's expensive, and you're still hungry after that. And the service was poor.

Amazing tapas - Edit
Wow! Another great restaurant by Christian Ventura Alatorre (founder of Sushi Momo). The food is impressive! Tasteful and original. The mix between Japanese and Mexican food is just perfect. The decor is pretty with a lot of plants and a modern look. The mocktails are amazing, I highly recommend the matcha lover and the sunset. Per person, it’s recommended to have 2 to 3 tapas. One that really impressed me was the miso-adobo brochettes!

Cons: Expensive
