An oasis of calm and a fantastic welcome - Edit
We stayed at Casa Ka'an for 4 nights during the Christmas period 2022. The self-contained apartment is spacious and really well equipped -felt quite luxurious. The setting in a beautiful, lush garden with a pool couldn't be better. If you're not really a "cat person", don't worry - they're entertaining, but not allowed into the guest accommodation, so don't intrude in any way into your visit. The location is on a quiet street in a safe area just south of the centre, easy walking distance to the main sights and just minutes from the main ADO bus station. But the best thing about it was Janet's warm welcome and hospitality. She really put herself out to ensure we had a good stay and made a real effort to cater for our dietary needs (including a gluten-free vegan). Her breakfasts were amazing, including a fabulous Indian dohsa breakfast on our final day. Excellent value for money (by far the best on our trip), I would thoroughly recommend Casa Ka'an.

Great Indian Food Option in Merida - Edit
We had a lovely dinner at Casa Kaan. Janet prepared delicious Indian food like samosas and dosas. Everything was incredibly tasty. The chutneys and condiments were also very, very good. I usually don't like things with mint, but her mint chutney was INCREDIBLE. We sat outside in the terrace; it was beautiful and peaceful. She has many cats on the property, and although I'm allergic, they minded their own business and were not near me at any moment. My allergies were perfectly fine. Would definitely recommend.

Spacious and relaxed - Edit
Really nice private room with my own personal garden for private relaxation. I’m very fond of cats so the resident felines were a bonus for me, only had to walk 2 mins from the bus station and got to stay in a local community with a little market, stores and places to eat.
Read morePros: Big kitchen area to eat, and prep my own food., Friendly cats, & loved the jigsaw puzzles., Large pool was welcome.
Cons: Host keeps private, but is available , If you don’t like cats- the cats, Bit of a walk to the supermarket.
