Delicious and worth the trip - Edit
When we first walked into Casa del Vegano, I got the vibes of a former nightclub, although it is a fairly small space. Never mind all that. The food we had is incredible.
Read moreTry not to overindulge on the chips and salsa you get at the beginning. Sure it's tempting, but save room for the food. We started with a happy hour "queso" special with veggie crumbles. It was a tad spicy but really good. I got the Coastal Scallop tacos, made with mushrooms, purple cabbage and corn, with a side of black beans and rice. I do wish it had more mushroom "scallops," but it sure was tasty. My boyfriend got the Chihuahua Chick'em tacos, also made with fried mushrooms and served with tater tots. I tried the fried mushroom, and it was also very good. Even though I was getting pretty full, we decided to finish with the churro beignets, five lovely minibuns that peeled apart beautifully and were just delicious.
Getting Tex-Mex when you're in Texas is a must. To get your fix (and also to get your daily vegetables), check out Casa del Vegano.
Pros: delicious food, vegetable focused, friendly service
Cons: we couldn't order through the online platform, it's a bit dark

Yummy! - Edit
Large portions, great for sharing, and generous pours. I would avoid the cheesy/fried dishes if you’re someone who gets sick when too much oil is used in the cooking process. Their “scallops” were really good and I wished I had ordered that instead of the shrimp quesadilla — it’s a bit greasy.

Huge portions but a bit salty - Edit
The totchos (tater tots covered in nacho cheese, bacon, etc) were enormous and probably enough for 1 very hungry person or 2 people sharing.
Read moreI also tried the scallop tacos (comes with rice and beans) which was delicious apart from the scallops being too salty.
In general I found the food is on the saltier side here and had to drink lots of water after.
Try the beignets! Super buttery, fluffy, and a good mix of sweet and salty.

Casa Del Vegana
Read moreFirst thing about this location is there is parking🚘 in the back and on the front street but I think it's paid parking. The food here is very fulfilling. Come in with a hungry stomach and leave out wishing you had stopped eating halfway through lol ☺️. To me the music is a little loud but it's normal comfortable sitting inside. They have a bar and it's open and available. I experience pretty good service while I was inside. The bartender was keeping up with everyone in there until the waiter came on duty. I went in this establishment right around lunch time on a Tuesday. If this is the type of food that you're looking for I would recommend this establishment. Enjoy ❤️🙏😇
Pros: Large amount of food, Full bar inside, Good for a large crowd together
Cons: Parking situation can be questionable

Large portions - Edit
you order off at code they do bring you the food but since you have to pay to order and can’t get the drink specials online only at the bar you have to have separate charges for everything

Used to paying 10-17 per plate when I order but normally the portions leave you hungry this place isn’t stingy and food is good.
Stole bite of my hubs burrito… I’m getting that next time the taste was

A new experience - Edit
The setup here is unusual; instead of having a server, you order everything by scanning a QR code on your phone. If you’re more of an introvert like myself, you may like this. If you enjoy the traditional service, then maybe not.
Read moreThe chips and salsa didn’t seem to have much salt, but since they were complimentary it didn’t really bother me.
I ordered the Crunchy Chimichanga and I was really pleased. It was full of unique flavor and I would gladly have it again. My friend ordered the Birria Beef Tacos with jackfruit and wasn’t quite as satisfied. They had a strong cinnamon taste that I don’t believe everyone would enjoy.
Pros: Clean industrial-style interior, Good menu items
Cons: Difficult parking, Loud

Large Portions, Service Lacking - Edit
I had the chiles relleno. It was a very large portion but could have used more flavor. For me, I prefer quality over quantity. It was tasty but I expected more seasonings, spices, flavors. I may not have chosen their best dish. As for service, they plop a QR code in front of you and that's about it. I sat at the bar and saw other people ordering a margarita drink special from the bartender but I was told I had to pay through the QR so...no specials for me? Any way, worth the visit, especially if you're REALLY hungry.

Delicious - Edit
My family and I were blown away by the amazing food and great service. We have not been out to eat for a year and we will never forget our great experience. You will not leave this place hungry and my wife and daughter are vegetarian but they may have liked it more than my son and I the vegans.

Good spot for vegan Mexican food - Edit
Great small venue with indoor and outdoor seating. The chips and salsa are delicious. I ordered the Crunchy Chimichanga, it did not disappoint. My wife ordered the 4 Crispy Thai Jackfruit Tacos and enjoyed her meal.
