Disappointing

Guess I wasn’t as lucky as the previous users! I asked if they could veganize any of the risottos and the server’s answer was that it would ruin the recipes. Therefore I ordered the burger, which was underwhelming - the vegetable patties were of a mid supermarket brand and served scalding hot and dry. They were also presented with mayo, even after I said I wanted a vegan meal. It ended being a bit too expensive for the low quality. However, the place is nice and the padron peppers I had as starters were good.

Get the truffle mushroom risotto!

This restaurant serves mostly seafood but they do have a few dishes that can be made vegan. I got the truffle mushroom risotto without cheese. Best risotto I’ve ever had!

Cons: No vegan desserts

Not bad

There are 3 or 4 vegetarian options that can be veganised by not adding the cheese, but no substitution is offered, making those meals really plain and not worth the price ( e.g. pasta with veggies for 10€). There is a vegan burger which tastes good, maybe a bit dry.

Pros: Vegetarian options can be made vegan

Cons: Difficult to find

Delicious

Although there were only 3 or 4 veggie/vegan options, i choose the burger and it was amazing. the staff are very friendly and they also specialise in wine. overall very good meal.

Only one vegan option

The only vegan option was the burger, which tasted decent. The best part of eating here was the atmosphere, but sadly the waiter was intoxicated and not very nice - wouldn’t return.

Small and cozy traditional restaurant

In the city center of Portimao this was probably the only one restaurant open even in the later hours. There were not many vegan options - more classical food I would say such as pasta and so on, but they had one vegetarian burger. I wasnt quite sure if it was vegan (and as I had quite negative experience from Safari restaurant where we get "burger" but without a bun) I rather ordered veggie soup and classic pasta with veggies. Both were nice, delicious and filling, so together with fresh orange juice (which is also a classic thingy in here, what I love the most about this place), I was trully satisfied and dont mind the price so much. Staff was OK, understand and speak english (what is a big plus!), but they obviously like more french customers as they pay more attention to them (which we notices also in other restaurants).

Pros: some vegetarian and vegan options , good and tasty food , always made from fresh ingredients

Hidden Gem

There’s only one vegan option on the dinner menu which is a vegan burger, however it’s definitely worth going. It feels like a real authentic Portuguese dining experience, lovely surroundings, beautiful tiles and an ancient well in the bathroom! The burger was delicious, full of spinach and edamame beans. And the staff were really nice. We loved it!

Pros: Lovely atmosphere , Delicious burger, Great price

Cons: Only one vegan option

Mehrere Vegane Optionen. Wir hatten den veganen Burger mit selbstgemachten Pommes. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Very good

Very nice small restaurant. Owner was very gracious & gave me a short tour of the building as he showed me to the restroom. Look down outside the bathroom door & you will see the original well for the building. Food & local wine was delicious!

Pros: Delicious

Very tasty

They have some vegetarian food and some vegan food too. We had the risotto and it was delicious.
It also provides a wide range of wines and offers a cosy atmosphere. The staff is also very helpful and friendly.
