They now offer a chocolate chip version instead of the jam ones, which - in my opinion - is fantastic!!😛 It was our first time trying Welsh cakes and we absolutely loved them!!

Delicious fresh Welsh cakes! - Edit
I didn’t actually realise Cardiff Bakestones were on Happy Cow when we saw them in the market. In fact I didn’t even think they’d have a vegan option, but we were watching them hand bake Welsh cakes on the stand and it all looked amazing so I asked on the off-chance, and they did! They had two options – a pack of 5 jam Welsh cakes or a pack of 5 raisin ones. We got a pack of each and it came to just £3.80, which I thought was very reasonable for 10 fresh Welsh cakes. We actually didn’t end up eating them the same day (we were full of cake from Naked Vegan), but even after having them a couple of days later they were really delicious!! The jam one was my favourite but they were both amazing! We also warmed them up in the oven and that added an extra great touch but I’m sure they would also have been amazing cold.

They have a good variety of baked goods on offer - i tried most of them before turning vegan.

I was so happy to find vegan Welsh cakes that are fresh! I visit here every time I am in Cardiff. They do normal Welsh cakes and Jam splits as vegan, both are great!

Cardiff Bakestones offers two vegan welsh cakes - a traditional raisin one and a jam-filled one. Both are delicious. You can only buy them in sets of 5, because they bake all the vegan ones at the start of the day and pack them up to avoid any cross-contamination. A set of 5 is £1.50 so really good value! Very more-ish. And they are the "regular" size not mini ones. This is a traditional welsh cake bakery, so it's great they offer vegan options - go and support them😄
