Ok but nothing to write home about - Edit
I had the nachos - supposedly to share, but the portion wasn’t really big enough for that. It was served with a very fake-tasting “cheese” sauce. I could’ve done without that. The guacamole & pico de gallo were both fine.

(My buddy had the poke bowl - again a small portion. For that price, you’d expect more.)

Tiene varias opciones muy buenas: nachos con guacamole, ensaladas, un poke, quesadillas de champiñones y queso vegano y una hamburguesa vegana que hacen ellos. La comida está muy buena. De guarnición ponen patatas tipo chips caseras que son de 10. Tienen una tarta de plátano y chocolate apta de postre.

Amazingly surprised - Edit
We came to this restaurant when walking around San José after finding it on Happy Cow.

What a surprise to see that they advertise the vegan options on a menu board outside the restaurant ! We ordered the “to share” Vegan nachos and the Quesadillas which both came with delicious vegan cheese. The Quesadillas were also served with a vegan mayonnaise…
The portions were generous and we had enough for the both of us to pick on each plate.
I highly recommend as the atmosphere, the staff, and the food are all very nice !

Unexpectedly good vegan options - Edit
This place caught me by surprise when I stumbled upon the signs outside advertising the various vegan options. Finding vegan food in San Jose (or this side of Spain for that matter) can be quite a challenge, so Carallo was a very welcome sight. There were three vegan options in the 'to share' part of the menu (nachos, quesadilla and fries) and two vegan main courses (poké bowl and veggie burger). We shared the vegan nachos as a starter and had the poké bowl as a main dish; both were delicious! The nachos even had good vegan cheese spread over them and they were more than plenty as a two person starter. The poké bowl was great as well, made with avocado, mango and wakame combined with sticky rice. I asked for vegan desserts, but unfortunately they did not have any. The staff were very friendly as well and delivered quick service.
