Very overpriced and we left hungry. The food was not very good. The cover charge was 5 euro. I don't know whether this was per person or for both, because I accidentally saw it written in the waitresses notes, which she quickly hid. They wouldn't give us the receipt. Avoid.

Had the best meal of our Sicily trip here. The food was so delicious and authentic, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was wonderful - both the owners are lovely. The staff were very helpful and attentive in letting us know which dishes were vegan or could be made vegan, and we reallyyy enjoyed the food. Highly recommend this place!!

Husband (vegetarian) ordered cannoli stuffed with cheese and spinach. I had vegan cous cous. We split a salad first. Overall, the service was very nice, the food was delicious, and pricing was competitive. I would recommend.

We were really encouraged to visit the place thanks to reviews, BUT: "lovely" staff told me that there is no chance to make ARRABIATA or PASTA MARINARA vegan (it is obviously just with tomato sauce and marked in menu as vegan haha), not speaking about "vegan lasagna"... They told me to take pasta with mushrooms, where I finally tasted the cream/cheese and paid 15EURO!!! (Prices were so increased... And serving size was so small). At the end, lady tried to scam us and charge extra money :)

I had the eggplant parmigiana. Very good. So tasty. They are so welcoming. I would recommend it. The lasagna must be very good as well. I didn’t try it but some people that were beside me had it and they love it. Price reasonable.

A couple of options weren’t available - but I imagine it’s as it’s a small place so they sometimes don’t stock everything, or it was lunch time, making it a limited menu.

Read moreIch habe die vegane Lasagne gegessen und das war die leckerste vegane Lasagne, die ich je gegessen habe. Das Personal war super freundlich und mitdenkend. Ich wurde während des Aufenthaltes im Restaurant darauf aufmerksam gemacht, welche Produkte wie Likör oder ähnlich vegan sind oder nicht. Meines Erachtens hat man bemerkt, dass sich die Besitzer mit Veganismus beschäftigen. Alle Daumen hoch für dieses landestypische urige Restaurant.

Wir haben als Vorspeise einen Teller mit Auberginen, Tomaten & etwas Käse gegessen und als Hauptspeise die vegetarische Lasagne. Beides war sehr lecker 😊 allerdings auch nicht unbedingt günstig für die Größe der Portionen.

Special Restaurant in Beautiful Cefalu - Edit
Mimma and Giuseppe make this place special. Although I was disappointed that the vegan lasagna was not available our dinner was still delicious. What made this place was the experience. Giuseppe took a break and had a beer at the next table. We were able to talk with him and his wife Mimma about their life in Sicily. We actually met another customer (from Belgium) and we saw him the next day on a hike.

La proprietaria era mortificata, ma a causa della scarsa affluenza di turisti, i piatti vegani sono stati eliminati dal menù. Ci sono "caponata", cous cous di verdure (molto buono e abbondante) , e pasta al pomodoro. Ma sono cose che si possono trovare ovunque. In più è abbastanza caro.

Fantastic little spot ran by the most welcoming older couple. I had a mushroom pasta dish which was my favourite pasta dish I had during my whole 12 day stay in Sicily. The couple are so warm and friendly and gave us free almond wine. I'd definitely recommend this place for vegans!

Due to the lack of tourists, they reduced a lot of vegan dishes from the menu. Only had normal arrabbiata, pasta with tomatoes and a mushroom risotto completely vegan which was sad since we fancied the vegan lasagne.

Lovely family run restaurant - Edit
We ate here our first night in Cefalù after reading reviews in here. And then went back two nights later. The couple who run it are lovely and explained to us which items they suggested for us vegetarians. Our son (1) was with us and they had a high chair for him. A big plus for any parents.

The waitress was very friendly and willing to walk us through the vegan options, as well as options not explicitly on the menu. Aware of allergies as well. We had the roast vegetable caponata and fresh tomato pasta, with warm fresh bread and pressed lime juice. It was all very good (especially the bread!). Portion sizes were a welcome break from some of the overly large servings in some other establishments .

My wife and I had a really enjoyable night! Whilst we didn’t have any vegan options (we didn’t ask either) the vegetarian food was delicious. We had the Vegetarian canneloni and the mushroom risotto and a bottle of organic red wine. There were plenty of other vegetarian options to choose from, which we have found is quite rare in Italy. We would definitely return.
