Would've given 5* - Edit
Great vegan options, mushy pea bomb and curry sauce both delightful, the battered tofu was better than the battered fish. Sausages were great, chips were fantastic, all in all, great experience, will go again.

Separate vegan menu and fryer - Edit
Nice to find a chippy with a separate fryer for vegan items. Phoned order through and collected not long after. I ordered the chips, mushy pea bomb, curry sauce, and pineapple fritters. In hindsight, it was too much batter for me, and I had to remove most of the batter from the pineapple fritters as it wasn't as crispy as I would've liked. They also put the pineapple fritters in with the chips and put the musy pea bomb in a separate box for some strange reason, so I'm pretty sure they accidentally ended up with salt and vinegar on them. Nice enough and still hot when I parked up at the sea front.

This was brilliant! It makes me annoyed that happy cow reserves 5 stars for all vegan establishments as it’s clear that these guys have done their research and the food was the best chippy we’ve ever had !!

Thanks for adding vegan options - Edit
We enjoyed 2x tofu and chips and 3x vegan fish and chips. My tofu was great thanks very filling. The vegan fish was apparently great too - I will try it next time.

Finally! - Edit
Finally a solid vegan fish and chip menu and boy was it worth it. So much choice and not enough stomach space. We opted to pre order and collect which was so efficient and also purchased a bottle of their ketchup upon arrival. Would recommend doing this to beat the crowds as closes relatively early. It’s a little away from the bay so would recommend on an evening.
Read moreOnly thing I would say is that batter wasn’t as crispy as I would like but unsure if that’s because we collected so it may have got a little soggy. All the food remained warm for when we got home.
We tried;
Pea bomb - 8/10 (needed to be crispier but would definitely go back for more)
Battered Linda sausage - 7/10 (there are better vegan sausages to batter, perhaps the Richmond ones would be more in line with that classic chippy sausage)
Battered tofu - 10/10 (flavours and textures elite and two lots so good for sharing)
Battered fish - 10/10 (texture was so good! Scarily like fish and again good portion for sharing)
Chips - 10/10 (can’t fault - classic chippy chips)
Curry sauce - 10/10 (as per chips, cannot fault)
🤌🏼 chefs kiss 🤌🏼
If you don’t visit, then more fool you. #Veganuary
Pros: Lots of choice, Textures and flavours, Pre ordering system

Capplemans - Edit
Drove all the way from Harrogate for this ... it was so good. Had the "fish" pea bomb and chips. There was so much I couldn't finish which is rare for me. We waited a bit but worth it, to be made fresh. They did a gluten free option for hubby.

An actual vegan menu - Edit
Tried this place tonight, loved it. Very easy to order online and choose your collection time, so it’s all cooked just in time. Very impressed, I had the vegan fish & chips, all cooked separately to non vegan food. Friendly staff, I’ll certainly be back. Love the sticker to indicate which meal was vegan as I bought a non vegan for a friend. Little thing but I like that sort of service and consideration.

We ordered: a large chips

I'm not a fan of "fish" flavours but the vegan fish here is nice - not wrapped in nori as we've had elsewhere. I'd order double of the battered seasoned tofu though. The best thing I've ever had from a chip shop!
The curry sauce had a nice level of heat.
I don't know how you can deep fry food and it not be oily, but Capplemans have managed it.
Lovely food! I'd like them to open near where I live!

Best Vegan fish and chips in Scarborough - Edit
An excellent Fish and Chip shop tucked away from Scarborough town centre. Great Vegan offerings. We had the Tofu fish and chips, which was amazing. The big chunky chips were perfectly cooked and the tofu was very convincing as fish. A really good price as well. Definitely recommend and worth the walk from the town centre. Will go again

Amazing food!! - Edit
Before travelling to Scarborough I was eyeing this place up so when my meat eating family fancied some fish n chips, I suggested this place. It was easy to get to from the front, only a 4 min drive and the food was amazing!! I had the battered tofu and chips and my family has fish butties and said that was tasty too - so if you're with fish eaters, it's good to know!

Delicious! - Edit
Great service and friendly. The lovely lady found a vegan pie for us out the back and the tofu was excellent. As a lover of mushy peas the pea bombs were outstanding and enormous, even growing teenager boy was impressed! Good portion sizes too. Separate vegan menu with good choices up on the wall and OH enjoyed the regular menu options, so suits groups with more than one way of eating. Hope we're up this way again to enjoy!!

My partner and I had the tofu, Quorn nuggets and the battered LM sausage with chips and it was wonderful! The tofu was great - really well seasoned and not soggy at all which I was concerned about.
