Glad they opened this location - Edit
I've been going to Canton in Capitola for many years so I was happy to see that they have opened a location on the westside.
Read moreThe menu is similar to most Chinese restaurants. Items are clearly marked as vegan.
I had the Kung Pao lunch special. It was delicious and the outside of the tofu had an almost crispy texture.
Make sure to pass on the complimentary hot and sour soup (that comes with the lunch special) as it contains egg and you'll be good to go.
I'm sure I'll be a regular at this location.
Pros: Tasty food, Reasonably priced

Surprisingly Good Vegan Options - Edit
Canton Westside takes over what used to be Golden City on Mission and they delivered a fantastic Lunar New Year meal for us. The owners from Canton in Scotts Valley now own this spot and the quality is carried over.
Read moreThey offer a $15 dinner special where you can select an entree and it is accompanied by rice, an egg roll, and soup.
I ordered their Szechuan Tofu special and was pleasantly surprised at how great it ended up being. Large chunks of deep fried puffy tofu tossed in spices that made up half of my plate! I was loving this dish and was surprised at how crispy the outside was while it retained such softness inside. This item was also clearly marked vegan which is great for plant based eaters like myself. Make sure you ask for soup with no egg if you’re avoiding that part.
The service was friendly and restaurant was clean. I can see myself bringing my Chinese parents here if they’re in town and want to eat something familiar.
Pros: Large dinner portions
