Not vegan friendly - Edit
Most non vegan establishments will offer to make a vegan version of their dishes. Not this place. Options offered were mainly salads. Very poor. I do not recommend

Nice service, vegan options limited - Edit
We quite liked the ambiance when we sat down, good front of house team, menu was different to online so no veggie mushroom risotto. Vegan options limited to an aubergine sandwich starter (no cheese), a soup which we had which was lovely but €14 and a tomato pasta which we need up being penne and some sauce - a kiddie portion with no flavour (zero garlic, pepper, veg). Related same to servers. Gutted really because it feels like we ended up in some place that has great potential but came across as a tourist trap because of the food. Probably fine for non vegans. Lot’s of happy customers. I’d try somewhere else for vegans.

Yum - Edit
Super accommodating with vegan food! A lot of menus on the item can be modified to make it vegan. I had gnocchi I recommend!

Special evening - Edit
Had a beautiful three course evening meal. Several vegan options for each course meant there was plenty to chose from, and the dishes were tasty and imaginative. Would definitely recommend for a special evening in Lucca.

Pasta Love - Edit
I had the pasta aglio olio e peperoncino (vegan) and I have to say, it really was the best pasta I ever had in my life. Vegetarian and vegan options are very well labeled in the menu. Very nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Definitely will come back to this place. 👍😋

Amazing Vegan Meal - Edit
Found this place on Happy Cow and had a evening meal on the last night of our holiday. Wow it was amazing, so tasty and beautifully presented. So pleased to have found this place and will definitely return. Highly recommended. Thank you so much Cantine Bernardini 👍 would give 5/5 stars but happy cow would not allow

Helpful service, good food & ambience - Edit
The staff know what vegans can and cannot eat, vegan items labelled on menu. Not lots of choice but there is enough and the food is both interesting and tasty. Well worth visiting especially for a its warm ambience. Several waiters also good at speaking English if needed.

delicious food and an easy menu, the zuppa di farro alla Lughesse was probably the best thing we've eaten so far this trip! No soy milk but the vegan hazelnut and fruit dessert was very good

Clearly labelled vegan options, great staff and ambience - Edit
Tuscany is better then most EU areas for vegan food but you always need to ask about the dish. This restaurant was a welcome relief with menu items clearly marked vegan, vegetarian and GF. I had the cecina starter followed by spelt and bean soup, both local dishes. The following night I enjoyed the pesto spaghetti- vegan for a change! The staff were friendly with fluent English spoken, service excellent, and the place busy after 8pm. I definitely recommend booking! The owner's daughter is a vegan and he wants to create a place where we can go, find food easily, and not have to ask about every dish. He has created a menu with vegan and vegetarian options with each course. What a welcome break from the typical cheese-less pizza and penne pomodoro options! They have plenty of vegan sides, but the verdure mista was a little too fried and thin for me.

delightful restaurant in the heart of Lucca - Edit
After struggling to find good vegetarian options in Italy it's wonderful to stumble across a restaurant that embraces vegetarian and vegan food alongside its local meat favourites. There is a vegan/veg option for each of the three courses that surpass the usual aubergine parmigiana. The staff at the Cantine are friendly, passionate about their food and speak good English. We went early and got a table but it got busy later in the evening so do book.

Fantastic vegan options from the region; very high quality - Edit
On an afternoon stroll in Lucca I came around a corner and the quaint Osteria Cantine Bernardini caught my eye. I took a closer look at the menu and was very pleased to see that they serve regional cuisine and designate vegan items on the menu. I returned later in the evening for dinner and though there were many diners, we were able to be seated outdoors on a very pleasant evening. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the service was great! This osteria is a bit off of the beaten path and was less touristy than many in Lucca. I highly recommend this restaurant for a taste of regional Lucchese cuisine with the assurance that you'll be getting a high-quality vegan meal. I'd have given it 5 stars if I could, but the restaurant serves meat.
