Good options & cheap! - Edit
Came here twice because of its proximity to the car rental place lol. Has a good few options for vegans and well labelled, drinks are also good and cheap here! Portions are little small but cheap enough, only issue is the American-ness (but the name is the tell).

Good selection of vegan items, not a lot but more than some of the other places I’ve been to in Havana.

This is such a charming little cafe. - Edit
A bit of a walk out of Havana centre but well worth it. They have a handful of very tasty vegan options including sweet potato chips which were very welcome!

Nice little eatery - Edit
California Café is a small bar/ eatery with a nice atmosphere. They serve several vegan option or vegetarian options that can be veganised, for example the veggie burger or hummus (both were not available that day, because of a lack of chikpeas), the Veggie skewers, the Arroz Primavera (spring rice, fried rice with vegetables), and the "Eggplant Tower" with pineapple. We also ordered some plantane chips. We had the most amazing frutabomba juice (Papaya). Very nice service that helped us to choose some vegan food. It was also nice to go to an eatery outside of the touristic Old Havanna (Habana Vieja) and see an other district. The prices are similar to those in touristic restaurants in old Havanna though. They also had good coffee

the best malanga in Havana - Edit
We found the best malanga here. There is another dish that makes us overjoyed - Arroz Primavera, which is actually fried rice with plantain chips. It's a kind of wet fried rice, like risotto (my fav.), and the chef knows how to use spices very much, I love it! Finally, I highly recommend the fruit juice here, use a lot of fruit flesh, it tastes rich and fresh!

Decent vegan options - Edit
Went to this restaurant a few times during my stay in Cuba because I was staying in the same neighborhood. I had the veggie burger which is pretty good with their spicy sauce. It can be easily made vegan if you ask for no cheese and mayo. Also tried their hummus which doesn't taste exactly like it should but I imagine it's hard to get tahini in Cuba. They also have gazpacho on their menu and often offer veggie or vegan specials. Their fries and juices are also pretty good! Recommended!

Cheerful veg and non-veg eating sport - Edit
The two servers persuaded the owners to add some vegetarian options, and this has been a successful business move. The place is often full and the vegetarian options are creative.
Read morePros: Veggie burger was delicious, Several vegetarian options, change regularly, A for effort- helpful servers speak English

A lovely little cafe! - Edit
A very friendly little place, the staff easily understood that we didn't eat dairy and the vegetarian dishes were easy to convert to vegan ones. We had the chickpea burger without cheese, the hummus and plantain chips (so good!!!!!), Eggplant stack and bruschetta over two visits. Can't beat the price and taste😄

Good vegan options in Havana - Edit
We really enjoyed coming here. Besides a nice vibe, they have more vegan options than you'll find at most places in Havana, and the dishes were more flavorful than most.
Read moreThe chickpea burger was our favorite. The veggie skewer was good: not as filling but with great flavor.
The staff here is super friendly and extremely accommodating. We chatted with several nice visitors as well. Prices are better than many of the tourist restaurants, but certainly not cheap.
Pros: Friendly staff, Good food, Nice vibe
Cons: No air conditioning

Nice and friendly restaurant - Edit
We were here in December after seeing on Tripadvisor that they had a veggie burger. My boyfriend had the chickpea burger, and I had a fried rice dish with veggies which was on the "Today's special" menu, plus fried roots. Both dishes were really good, and it was nice to eat at a place with a bit of California/US touch. PS this place is close to Hotel Nacional.
