Great Vegan Options - Edit
We came to have breakfast with a group of friends. We had the vegan Tlayuda, the vegan mole enchiladas, the vegan chilaquiles, frijoles and nopales and water based chocolate. Everything was amazing, particularly the beans and the mole enchiladas. They do have two menus and one does not have the vegan options. Make sure you ask for the vegan menu.

No veggie or vegan options? - Edit
Went specifically for the vegan/veggie menu which was advertised at this place. Asked for a menu and they said nothing is vegan or veggie. Really strange

Not actually vegan, according to worker - Edit
Stopped by to get a meal and asked whether the vegan menu items contained any asiento/manteca/lard, such as the beans and tortillas. The worker I spoke to said "everything has a little grease." I understand that is a traditional way of preparing food and that it's a market food stall, but more care should be given before posting signs and menus declaring items are vegan.

Really good - Edit
I had the vegan tlayuda with added guacamole and it was so good! The stall is in the middle area of the the market, so I had to wander around a bit to find it, but totally worth it! The menu clearly labels each page as either vegetarian or vegan and has English and Spanish descriptions so ordering was easy.

An unexpected treasure in a local market. - Edit
Calenda Cocina Oaxaqueña has a dedicated vegan menu featuring many traditional Oaxacan dishes: tlayudas, enchiladas, enfrijoladas, chilaquiles and tostadas along with side dishes like guacamole, beans, rice and salad. The food stand (actually a restaurant located in the food court of municipal market) is clean and inviting. Portions are generous, the food is good and the service efficient and friendly. I especially liked the vegan tlayuda, which had to be eaten by hand, like pizza. Recommended for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is also a great juice bar nearby.
