I want to preface this by saying I WOULD go again.
Read moreThe worker greeted us with “what is in the case is all I have,” which wasn’t the friendliest greeting for a first visit. I probably have very high standards for baked goods as I used to bake professionally and still bake for fun, but this just didn’t do it for me. The dirty chai donut tasted mostly like sweet yeast- I got no coffee flavor nor did I get any chai coming through. The Boston cream had a tan glaze on it, not sure what it was, but def not exactly what I was expecting.
That being said, the atmosphere was cute. Loved the ofrenda for beloved pets. I very much appreciate any fully vegan eatery and for sure would go again. It was absolutely not bad, just not quite what I was expecting. Just the fact that is fully vegan alone is enough to get me there for a second chance.
Pros: Cute atmosphere, Fully vegan 🩵
Cons: Donuts were not quite what I was expecting, I was a little put off by the greeting

Cake thieves has my heart. The owners Kia and Sam are great people who love what they do. I love ALL their donuts and kolaches as well as their cupcake specials on the weekends. The scones, croissants, and poptarts are tasty too. Weirdly their chocolate cake kind of misses the mark in my opinion (dense and not super flavorful) but that’s the ONLY flaw. Tres leches is incredible so please try that! I actually used them for my wedding cake which was Boston crème and it was so good.

My sister is having a graduation and ordered 2 dozen cupcakes a week in advance. She ordered vanilla cake with strawberry frosting so the frosting would be pink. When we went to pick up the order, the frosting was white. We told them it was suppose to be strawberry and they said that they used strawberry flavoring. When we got home and tried the frosting and it was vanilla flavored. We had high hopes but were very disappointed as these were for her graduation party.

I got the almond croissant and a mixed berry poptart, and I regret not getting one of everything they had. The pastries were so delicate, flaky, buttery...mmmmm. Gonna be dreaming about these. 😍

I've had so much of their menu. Kolaches, donuts, muffins, tres leches (that one was hard to share). This is my fave place to eat, I have zero complaints.

Make sure to try their donuts and pop tarts! 🥲 brings a tear to my eye when I can find legit good vegan donuts and not the regular dry choking hazards. This place is awesome!

Cake thrives hosts a monthly vegan market at Cherrity bar in downtown San Antonio. You can find their food there or in various coffee shops around town. They never fail to disappoint! Highly recommend trying them if you ever come across their stuff! They also have some of the best vegan macaroni and cheese I’ve ever had.

The food was very very good, highly recommend. Absolutely no problems or complaints. It was sweet, but it wasn’t that sweet to the point I overdosed on sugar, which is always good. There was a variety of options to choose from. Attended the VegFestival 2021 in Corpus Christi, TX and it was a very good experience trying out their sweets for the first time.

We have tried Cake Thieves at two vegan pop-up markets/festivals. The mac and cheese was some of the best we have ever had. The donuts are sinfully good, too. Everything we've had has been super delicious!

Found them at the San Antonio Coffee & Cordials event and I had to try it. I've heard about their vegan treats before and I chose the mocha donut. $3.50 is a bit steep for a donut but if kept as a special treat it's worth every penny. You would never know that it was vegan if you were not told.

i CRAVE their doughnuts - Edit
So, I've bought a few of their doughnuts and let me tell you they are so delicious. My favorite one so far is their cookies and cream one. So soft and scrumptious. I'm excited to try their new flavor of Matcha w/chocolate chips doughnut. You can get their doughnuts are various coffee shops like Berry to Bean and White Elephant. I LOVE their blueberry crumble doughnut. Their cookies and creme is also very good. They're the perfect amount of sweetness. Their mac n' cheese is DELICIOUS! Best vegan mac n' cheese I've ever had.
