Cute place, food was just okay - Edit
The place is very cute. The food was not that great though. I got the full vegan breakfast (with no tomato). The mushrooms and potatoes were quite good, but I thought the tofu scramble and sausages lacked flavour (and the tofu scramble did not have a good texture).

Delicious vegan pancakes - Edit
I’ve been meaning to visit for a while - good looking menu with scrambled tofu etc but couldn’t resist the vegan pancakes & berries. Stylish corner cafe with an airy seating area under a glass verandah plus more pavement tables under an awning. We’ll certainly be back to try the tofu breakfast!

Amazing brunch location - Edit
Cafe Yolk is my favourite brunch location in Reading. They have a good range of vegan options, including fluffy pancakes, tacos, scrambled tofu on toast and the classic ‘The Vegan’ breakfast. The Vegan is my go to, it comes with 2 vegan sausages and scrambled tofu and the herby potatoes (that also come with the scrambled tofu on toast) are amazing! They’re smoothies can all be made vegan by swapping yoghurt for coconut milk - I recently had this in the mango and pineapple smoothie and it was lovely - and they’ve also got two vegan milkshakes. The coffee is always great and they offer a range of milk alternatives. My only wish would be a vegan caramel sauce (with bananas and pecans) as an alternative to the pancakes. Great little cafe, couldn’t recommend enough!

Great spot for breakfast - Edit
There aren't many good places open before 10 for breakfast, but this is one of them! Their vegan full breakfast is very nice, although tofu scramble isn't included by default (have to ask for it). Additionally they have vegetarian sausage available for breakfast, but not vegan - something that could easily be changed! Other options include avocado or tofu scramble on toast, as well as a delicious berry parfait. Drinks-wise, the coffee is top-notch and they have vegan smoothie options that are wonderfully tasty and thick. All vegan options are clearly marked on the menu. Atmosphere of the place is nice, but beware that they are very popular and you may have to wait for a table upon arrival.

Pros: Vegan options clearly marked, Great quality food and drink, Good atmosphere
Cons: Vegan breakfast doesn't include sausage or tofu
