Good but would like more options - Edit
This place was very cute with great outdoor seating as noted in other posts. They only had one vegan option but it was fantastic-the pesto portobello panini. Please do more 😀

Some nice vegan options - Edit
Happy cow does not allow me rating this cafe with 5 stars because it is not a fully vegan or vegetarian restaurant (cafe)…
Read moreWe had amazing portobellp vegan sandwiches and very delicious matcha lemonade 👍🏼
They indoor and two outdoor seatings, we had a table in the back patio… very nice place and would definately recommend !
It is just pity they serve most of the drinks in plastic cups even when your eating, drinking in the house… except the hot drinks of course ….

Yummy vegan burrito and coffee - Edit
Their vegan burrito is shockingly delicious, comforting, and healthy! The girl at the counter was friendly and eagerly offered vegan suggestions. They are able to make other menu items vegan, but I tried her first recommendation and I’m glad I did. They have an excellent urban vibe.

Delicious coffee - Edit
The coffee here is great. I also had a delicious vegan scone. As noted, they do have more than one vegan option for meals; but know that they are mostly mushroom based and the plant burger is impossible meat - two things that don’t agree with me unfortunately.

Delicious - Edit
The vegan burrito is insane. So flavorful and unique! Wish I could recreate it at home. The oatmeal, black coffee & Americano are also good, but youre coming here for the burrito. Don’t sleep on it.

Consistently Fresh, Delicious and Unique - Edit
I've been going here for a few years now since I stumbled on it while attending a yearly Bluegrass Music event at the Marriott Hotel. The staff is super friendly with fast service. There are many vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. I love the vegan burrito, greek salad, tomato soup and vegan portobello sandwich.

Nice local Café. Offers plant milk options - Edit
Nice local Café with sandwiches and small plates. Offers vegan food upon request. Café is served with several plant milk options like oat milk, almond milk or coconut milk. Best coffee I had in my one week US stay so far.

Amazing experience - Edit
Came for a relaxing brunch, not disappointed! Always happy to support veg friendly businesses. Only downside is the potential for more vegan friendly menu items. But, they’ll come around as the demand increases. Come check them out! And ask for the vegan chocolate pb loaf!! It’s sooo delicious! Light and perfect combination of delicious flavors!!

Vegan & Vegetarian in Bako..Oh My! - Edit
A restaurant with more than one Vegetarian option in Bakersfield is very hard to come by. Cafe Smitten has multiple menu options for Vegetarians, plus several choices that are Vegan friendly. I just recently moved back to my hometown after living in Long Beach where I had several Vegan & Vegan Raw choices. It’s good to see a progressive business in Bakersfield. Hopefully other entrepreneurs will identify there is a market here. The Vegan Burrito & Vegan Portobello sandwich were delishious! The outdoor patio is simething I have grown accustomed to at coastal establishments!

Good vegan grub in downtown Bakersfield - Edit
Cafe Smitten is a great place to visit for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The vegan breakfast burrito is large and stuffed with garbanzo beans, sauteed mushrooms, spinach, avocado, olives and tahini. Also try the vegan portobello sandwich which is a roasted portobello, avocado, sprouts, tomato, oregano and pesto spread for lunch or dinner.
