Bit pricey for what you get

We had a voucher so had to go before it expired. No vegan option for afternoon tea so we had the Wellington and the burger.

Wellington was lovely even though it wasn't in a traditional style. Burger was a burger....

Great atmosphere and decent food

The flat white with oat milk was great and the full vegan breakfast was better than quite a few others I’ve had here in London.

Pros: Nice servers , Fair prices , Good atmosphere

Cons: Not a ton of vegan options

So poor

We came here because Café Rouge were offering 2-4-1 mains and they have a few interesting vegan options on the menu, but we shouldn’t have bothered. The first red flag when we arrived was that there were only 2 waitresses serving the entire restaurant, not their fault of course, but in hindsight a warning sign of how things are run here (I read a review on Google afterwards from 4 years ago and someone else was saying the same thing, so I don’t think it’s a one off). They weren’t taking walkups, so we booked online and sat in McDonald’s for 30 minutes while we waited for our slot so we could go back and eat. It’s fair enough to only take bookings, but is something to be aware of if you’re considering going yourself. When we were seated we waited quite a while to be served (unsurprising with only 2 staff) and when a waitress came to take our order she informed us they had no cauliflower steak, which was one of the main things we wanted to try, but at this point we were so hungry we just decided to get 2 of the Pretzel burgers instead. The burger itself was so poor. The bun was dry and chewy, the cheese looked like it had just been slapped on last minute – it wasn’t melted at all and wasn’t very warm, and the Beyond patty was dry and overcooked. Both burgers also came with fries – I had the sweet potato fries which were tasteless and poorly cooked (I physically couldn’t eat some of the chips they were so undercooked), and my fiancé had the regular fries which were also really tasteless. The worst thing is I ate almost all of it (bar the bits I physically couldn’t stomach). I was so hungry I was past caring and just ate it anyway (the flavour of the Beyond meat made it at least somewhat bearable). In the end it got to the point where we were just literally sitting there laughing about how bad it was. I didn’t bother to complain as I didn’t trust it would be replaced with anything better and I was too hungry to care about finding somewhere else, and I didn’t want to add more stress to the waitresses when it was already so hectic. I don’t know if we just got really unlucky or if it’s always like this, but based on our experience I would strongly warn against coming here.

Pros: Waitresses were friendly

Cons: Very poor food, Understaffed
