Serves meat, vegan options available. Small cozy cafe has clearly labeled vegan choices named in honor of vegan CHP Officer Segundo. CHP vegan burrito (hash browns, sautéed veggies & avocado wrapped in a tortilla); vegan mix (mixed sautéed veggies over rice); vegan scramble (mixed scrambled veggies); and McBryde avocado reuben (avocado, tomato, sauerkraut & vegan thousand island dressing on toasted rye bread). There is also a vegetarian section of the menu, of which some might possibly be vegan or could be made vegan upon request. Open Mon-Fri 6:30am-2:30pm, Sat 6:30am-3:00pm, Sun 7:00am-2:00pm.

Fine - Edit
There are vegetables in the burrito, no protein (including no beans), and they offer hot sauce. I found the flavor was from the hot sauce.

Probably better if you're not vegan - Edit
This place has an extensive menu but only 3 vegan things. And the scramble - be warned, it's nice but it's literally just veg and potatoes. No tofu scramble as I assumed, which is on me, but otherwise what is "scrambled"?

Great vegetarian choices! - Edit
We were briefly in the San Pablo Area & in need of healthy lunch choices in the “Sea of Fast Food” places. McBryde’s fit the niche perfectly. I had a (carry out) veggie burger with avocado that was awesome & served with a smile. There were many more options I could have chosen as well as many for non- vegetarian folk.

Friendly, lovely service with VEGAN options! - Edit
Denise has owned Cafe McBryde for the past 3 yrs. & she “loves feeding people”. Her menu has both a vegan & vegetarian section & she is interested in adding a vegan burger to the menu at some point soon.
Read moreI ordered the CHP breakfast burrito & it was so delicious! It was packed with hash browns, mushrooms, peppers & onions & served with a side of salsa. Coffee was strong enough & I was given the choice of soy milk or almond milk to go with it.
Why did I take so long to check this place out? I had no idea that Cafe McBryde serves vegan food in addition to their omnivore menu. Now that I know better, I’ll be back for more SOON! There’s a tasty-looking vegan Reuben on the menu that looks wonderful.
Denise & her crew are lovely, friendly people & I look forward to being one of their regulars. Cafe McBryde is located just east of San Pablo Avenue, on McBryde. I’ll be back soon & I’ll bring more vegans for them to feed 👏🏽❤️🌱.
Happy Update: Denise checked the packaging & the veggie burger she serves is vegan! I ordered it today on rye bread, with all the fixins & it was delicious! 👍🏽
I will update this review soon with photos of the food but today we were too hungry to remember to take them!
Pros: Easy street parking , Cute place with friendly service, Great vegan options on the menu
Cons: PRO: Regular & sweet potato fries are vegan too!
