Serves meat, vegan options available. Cafe serving simple food with some dairy-free and gluten-free choices. Could ask to switch cheese for hummus. Selection of teas and juices too. The company has a pro-sustainability ethic. Its other location at Pound Lane, Higginson Park, Marlow had shut down (2014). Removed November 2024: Limited vegan options.

Would not recommend - Edit
If you are coming here for coffee etc. It's okay, however lunch there is 1 vegan option (a salad) which I feel is poor at best. Additionally there is no vegan options on the breakfast menu. There are a few vegertarian options which are okay. Overall I feel that for a cafe that used to be completely vegan/vegertarian has now gone the opposite way.

Good vegan & veggie options - Edit
Great place with great vegan and veggie options. They do serve meat, but say they maintain great hygiene where their non veg items aren't cross contaminated with plant based options. It's a shame they no longer do the miso broth as that was my favourite item on the menu!

Awesome small dishes - Edit
At one point this cafe went veggie but this doesn’t seem to be the case anymore which is a shame. They were even selling dried exotic jerky like camel! Despite this they have a very good selection of vegan small dishes (as well as vegan breakfast options, cakes etc). Their online menu seems to be out of date. We got four small vegan dishes- a pumpkin hummus, roasted pumpkin, kimchi fritters & nori tacos. They were all fresh, delicious and well presented with garnish, dips, nuts etc. Not what you’d expect for a cafe in a park and one that’s not fully vegan or veggie. Would recommend!

Nice cafe with decent vegan food - Edit
I had a really nice vegan bacon bap made with proper home-made smoky seitan. They also had a vegan breakfast.

Solid community café in great surrounds - Edit
A super local café with a socially conscious, community vibe. Food is locally sourced and includes many healthy and several solid vegan options. The mushroom toast breakfast option with green tahini and chillis is excellent. Vegan cakes are varied, but there is always one. Sometimes it is excellent, sometimes weaker. Great walks around lakes provide super surroundings with plentiful free parking.

Lovely setting - Edit
Inviting cooking smells waft over a corner of the Aquadrome in Rickmansworth enticing walkers into this warming place. Inside is spacious but can get crowded and noisy. There is a nicely decorated ‘quiet room’ but it can get a bit stuffy. There is also outside seating with beautiful lakeside views however I am disappointed that they have replaced the more comfortable tables and chairs on the terrace with mainly long wooden tables and hard benches – no longer a comfortable place to linger over coffee or lunch. Good selection of vegetarian dishes, vegan options are available on request. Homemade falafel and humus are especially good.

Cons: Could make more of outdoor seating area

delicious vegan options - Edit
This lovely cafe at the Aquadrome in Rickmansworth is definitely worth a visit. I've been a few times and there are always vegan options. I emailed them before going to check what was vegan so I was prepared to ask for what i wanted without all the questions and checking with the chefs etc.
Read moreIt's an eco friendly, sustainable, local-food cafe that blends in with the natural area of woods and lakes.
The falafel open sandwich was delicious; the menu doesn't mention there is houmous spread on the sour dough, I only found out when I asked them to exchange the (non vegan) harissa for houmous. The falafel was really scrummy, and homemade.
The park salad and bean stew are also vegan, just switch the harissa for houmous or falafel.
The chips are cooked in the same fryer as the chicken nuggets, which are coated in yogurt and polenta so some veggie/vegans may be ok with that.
It can get very busy at certain times so best to get there early or late if you want to be served quickly.
Pros: quiet room, vegan options, friendly staff
Cons: none
