Probably the best vegan afternoon tea in London. Good for a special occasion good area to explore and walk off the vegan feast!

Best afternoon tea in London! - Edit
The food here is unbeatable, it does however have to be a treat as it's quite pricey but worth every penny. I especially liked the alcohol free Prosecco and the display of the sandwiches is so pretty! I love the edible gold decoration and how tasty it all is!

Would like to try again/more - Edit
The tea experience and breakfast sound lovely. I only had the risotto entree. Staff was very helpful but for a vegan restaurant the staff probably shouldn’t be volunteering “I like my meat” when you ask them about the menu. (New server in all fairness)

Delicious British Tea Experience - Edit
For anyone who isn’t a UK national and would like to experience the afternoon tea experience but who is also vegan, this is the only option. It’s a bit expensive, but the service and the food is worth it. Nothing brings joy like finger sandwiches and mini cakes.

Good breakfast but expensive - Edit
I was a bit disappointed by the indoor space - very dark on a sunny morning at 10am! I asked to sit outside which was very green and quiet. My pancakes (£10) were very original and fluffy. The raspberries and strawberries ripe and delicious. I believe I was supposed to have maple syrup too but didn't ask as the fruit coulis was sweet enough. My ruby latte was good too but pricey - £5!! My flexitarian friend had the full English breakfast and was happy with it. Although in my opinion it looked too small for the price (£15) They initially charged her for her pot of tea (£3.75) until she pointed out that it was included in the breakfast!

Pros: All vegan, Lovely quiet outdoor space
Cons: Dark indoor space

Thank yu for the review. The Terrace is open for all diners at Cafe Forty One. The restaurant interior is in keeping with the concept of the hotel and is normally bright is sitting at the window area. Sorry to hear you thought it a little dark. We do hope you visit us again, you dont mention if you were a residential guest, especially in the latter days of summer while the terrace is still suitable for dining alfresco.

Highly recommend even for non vegans. The tofu eggs tasted like eggs! Best vegan sausage I’ve had. Avocado toast is creamy! They almost didn’t seat us because we were walk ins so make a reservation if you can.

Afternoon Tea was amazing!!! - Edit
We were looking for an Afternoon Tea in London! This was one of the cheapest and happened to be ALL VEGAN! The entire restaurant is Vegan so that was definitely a huge plus! The finger sandwiches were very traditional and delicious. The deserts were great too. All of the food was great. This is a French Vegan restaurant. There are many other afternoon tea options in London but this was the best price and more traditional Afternoon tea. I would definitely recommend this place!

Try the omelette - Edit
We had a very short stay in London, but ate breakfast at this cafe twice. It was absolutely fantastic. Their soy cappuccino was amazing. And my absolute favorite breakfast dish was their omelette. But the avo toast and pancakes were great too. They have English breakfast as well as continental one. Which I was not a big fan of. But good nonetheless, it’s just a personal choice. I really recommend stopping by for breakfast if you can.

Cons: It’s also the hotel breakfast place.

Fantastic food! - Edit
We were staying at a nearby hotel and found this cafe. This is attached to a hotel and the sign isn’t very big, but the breakfast was amazing. We came back two days in a row and tried everything on their breakfast menu, it was unfortunate we weren’t able to try lunch, I’m confident it was awesome too.

Just ok - Edit
We stayed at the hotel and had breakfast, which was fine, but nowadays most non-vegan hotels offer as many vegan breakfast options as this all-vegan place. We also had high tea, which was disappointing. Sandwiches were very good, but the scones were dry (or maybe old) and every dessert was chocolate. We left a lot of it.

OK - Edit
Had the afternoon tea, nothing stood out, we both felt a little disappointed. Scones were particularly dry. Food was average, as was the setting. For the price we would expect a better table setting, presentation and interesting food.

Excellent vegan afternoon tea. Highly recommend that you make a booking, otherwise there may not be free space for you. Service is a bit strange, but they make up for it with their fancy food.

Was so excited to try this place - Edit
Was so excited to try this place. A lot smaller than I expected and the decor is unremarkable. Hubby had full breakfast - not particularly big, cold scrambled tofu & nothing different or exciting. I had chickpea omelette on sourdough which was just OK. Definitely not worth the price or hype. Spent 9 days in London & Brighton and this was by far the worst place we ate in

Cute Space - Edit
Had breakfast here, did not stay at the hotel. I had a full English breakfast and ruby latte. The latte was amazing. The English breakfast was okay - didn’t care for the tofu scramble at all. It was a bit cold and tasted like unseasoned mushy tofu. The beans, hashbrowns, and sausage was good though! My husband tried the pancakes, and they were delicious!

Great place - Edit
Firstly this place is so beautiful especially the outdoor seating which really shines when the suns out. A friend and I both had the afternoon tea which was delicious, each sandwich was unique in its own way, the pastries were beautiful and light. The scones were flaky and paired well with the jam and cream cheese which had a hint of coconut to it. The non-alcoholic fizz worked well as a palate cleanser and the staff were attentive. This is a great stop if you’re looking for high quality afternoon tea, will definitely be coming back to try more of their menu.

Superb afternoon tea! - Edit
Took my sisters here for my birthday and was not disappointed - it was SO lovely to have a fully vegan afternoon tea, the staff are truly delightful and the overall atmosphere and ambiance cannot be faulted. The sandwiches were exceptionally good, my only criticisms would be that the cheese board portions are incredibly meagre for the price and I’d advise against the green smoothies unless you like the taste of their healthier ingredients (kale etc).

vegan afternoon tea - Edit
I went there with a few non-vegan friends during my holidays in London. All of us liked the afternoon tea and my friends were positively surprised by their 'vegan experience'. Everything was tasty and looked very well prepared and arranged. The staff was also very friendly, but maybe a bit inattentive (or too busy?? it was not all that full though tbh).
Read moreWhen you take the afternoon tea, they give you 'unlimited' tea re-fill which is pretty nice. However, our first order was forgotten by the staff and we had to ask for it and our second order almost was forgotten too; we were about to re-ask when the staff member seemed to remember us... When one of us wanted a third tea, it took ages until she had it ordered and served again as well, so it does appear like a general thing to me?
Pros: it was very tasty and nicely arranged, sweets were not too sweet, exactly to my liking, nice location, friendly staff
Cons: it took a while until we got our tea, no discount even though they promoted it online..?, automatically charged additional service fee

Thank you for your review, I will pass yur comments onto the Management Team. Customer service is very important to us. If you were enjoying afternoon tea as a reservation for August special offer you should have recieved the relevant reduction. If this is the case please email the hotel directly.
